Quick and Handy Grammar Review
Pronouns can be people, places, or things. Pronouns refer to
nouns that we already know. This lesson will cover subject pronouns,
object pronouns, possessive adjectives, and possessive pronouns.
A. Subject Pronouns

Object pronouns can be the object
of a verb or the object of a preposition.
• She called him. (object of the verb called)
• She talked to him. (object of the preposition to)

the end of a sentence after the Be verb.
Note #3:
Its is a possessive adjective.
Its can never be a possessive pronoun.

This lesson will cover subject pronouns, object pronouns, possessive adjectives, and possessive pronouns. A. Subject Pronouns Person Singular Plural First I I am from Korea. we We are happy to be here. Second you You are very nice. you You are all invited to my house. Third he He is a pharmacist. she She is tired. it It has brown fur. they They are never late. B. Object Pronouns Person Singular Plural First me Maria called me at 3:00 am. us Sandra invited us to dinner. Second you Laura talked about you yesterday. you John wants all of you to go to the party. Third him The teacher asked him a question. her The manager gave her a promotion. it Mike watched it last night. them The airline gave them free tickets. Note #1: The pronoun I is always capitalized. � Maria and I are friends. � Maria and i are friends. Note #1: Possessive adjectives are always followed by a noun. Note #1: Possessive pronouns are never followed by a noun. Note #2: Possessive adjectives are more common than possessive pronouns. Note #2: Possessive pronouns are usually at the end of a sentence after the Be verb. Note #3: Its is a possessive adjective. Its can never be a possessive pronoun.
