3. Parts of Speech
Noun: A noun names a person, place, animal or thing.
Peter is going to the park with his bat and ball.

Adjective: An adjective tells us something about a
noun and pronoun.
James is a young boy. He has a new bat.

Pronoun: A pronoun is word used in place of noun.

4. Parts of Speech
Verb: A verb us what persons, animals, or things do .It is used
to show doing, being or possession.
1. Indian team won the badminton series. (doing)
2. These girls are very good dancers. (Being)
3. A giraffe has a long neck. (possession)
Adverb: An adverb tells us more about a verb, another verb or
adjective.
He sang a song sweetly.
Preposition: A preposition shows the relation between a noun,
pronoun or some other words in a sentence.
A glass is on the table and a cat is under the table.

5. Conjunction: A conjunction helps in joining words or
group of words.

Interjection: An interjection express a sudden feeling.
