3. Description
Leaves are imparipinnate , often covered with red galls.
Flowers are yellow or greenish white , polygamous.
Drupes that are yellowish green to black , globose , fleshy.
Each drupe contains 3-4 stones.
Bark is greyish brown , exfoliating in large irregular flakes.
4. Uses and Importance of Garuga pinnata
It is used as timber for planking ,canoes ,boxes ,drums
,cabinetwork and house building.
Its wood is used as fuel and leaves and shoots as fodder.
Its drupes are eaten raw ,cooked or pickled; they are
strongly acidic and possesses cooling and digestive
properties.
Ball and leaf galls are used for tanning.
The juice of the stem is used as remedy for the opacity of
conjunctiva. Leaf juice along with honey and ingredients is
giver for asthma.

6. Description
Leaves are bipinnate.
Flowers are golden yellow and sweet scented.
8-12 seeds per pod, compressed, ovoid and dark brown.
Bark is dark brown or nearly black , with regular deep, longitudinal
fissures.

Soil It grows best on alluvial silts near rivers, where it is often
flooded deeply each year, but is said to tolerate a wide range of
soils including heavy clays . Black cotton soil is generally very
suitable for babul.

8. Uses and importance of Acacia nilotica
It is an excellent fuelwood.
Its wood is used for art-making ,agricultural
implements , etc.
Good quality babul gum is used in calico-printing
and dyeing , as a sizing material for silk and
cotton, and in the manufacture of paper
