Declan Tyldesley evaluates his first film opening title sequence. He gives it a rating of 7 out of 10. Some strengths included the easy to read font for the titles and the darkened shots that added intensity. Interviewed viewers liked the dark, urban soundtrack. Some weaknesses were shaky camerawork in the final shot and a pitch black shot that lacked detail. Going forward, Declan plans to improve lighting, speed up shots, choose tighter locations, and film during the day to darken in post for better night shots while keeping some natural colors. Overall, he was pleased with this first attempt at a film opening title sequence.

Evaluation
In my Evaluation of my film opening title sequence I will be talking about a few
strengths and weaknesses of my video for example I might think my camera work
could be better throughout this video so this would be classed as a weakness.
When I reviewed my video, if I had to rate it out of ten I would probably give it a
seven because this was my first time directing and producing a film opening title
sequence.
One strength that I could quite easily think of is the font of my text, I think this
was a strength of my film opening title sequence because the title’s was very easy
to read, so the viewers could quite clearly see who was involved with the making
and the filming of this film and the title of the film “The Avenger”.
In my honest opinion I quite liked the way I darkened the set on two shots on
after effects because it gave the shot a bit more intensity so it could possibly
frighten a few people because you could tell that someone was going to be killed
in this scene.

To help with my Evaluation I asked a few people what they liked about my film
opening title sequence and some of them said they liked the music sound track
because it gave the film an urban and dark feeling, so I would probably consider
this as a another strength of my film opening title sequence.
Now I shall move onto some of the disadvantages of my film opening title
sequence and one of them is the camera work, now I am only going to criticize
the final shot because the camera was a bit shaky so it may not have showed full
detail of the shot, but in my defence I wasn’t using any steady cams or tripods
during this shot.
Another disadvantage of my film opening title sequence would be at one in the
film opening title sequence you basically couldn’t see anything from a bit of an
angle because it was pitch black. If I was going to film this shot again I will
probably use some lighting to make the set a brighter so the viewers could see a
bit more detail throughout this shot of the murder’s surroundings for example.

Overall if I had the chance to film some of these shots again I will definitely speed
up some of the shots by moving faster with the camera or speeding the shot up in
after effects so it makes some of the shots more intense so the viewers could be
more interested while watching my film opening title sequence.
Also I would like to change some of the locations of these shots because I think if I
would have used a more tight and secure alley way it could have made the film
better because then the viewers no there is no escape for the civilian as he
approaches the stranger (The Agent) that looks annoyed and depressed so if
something does happen it could end with a death. Next time when I come to film
for my music video I will look at a various amount of locations before I start to
film so I can imagine a scene taking place in a specific area. When I come to make
another production video and if the scene is meant to take place at night in the
dark I would probably choose to film this shot in the day and then just darken the
set in after effects to make the shot look a lot better, and show off a lot more
detail. By doing this the colours will give of more light because it was filmed in the
day but the set was just darkened, so I will try to keep some of the natural colours
in the shot but it will still look like night.
But still despite the disadvantages I think I did quite well while creating my first
film opening title sequence or production video.
