2. Getting Involved With the Penn Parents
Association
 Debra Kasirer is a career philanthropist involved in cultural and educational
advocacy. At a collegiate level, Debra Kasirer has served on the board of
directors of several Hillel organizations and has previously functioned as the
president of the Penn Parents Association, where she helped coordinate
fundraisers and social events.

 The Penn Parents Association connects parents to The University of
Pennsylvania, building a relationship that not only keeps parents informed
but also involves them in the university’s life and advancement. The
association holds several events and offers a wide range of opportunities
through which parents of Penn students can meet each other and raise
funds for the university and its students.

4. Getting Involved With the Penn Parents
Association
 One of the many ways parents can become involved with the Penn
Parents Association is by joining the Penn Parents Council, a group of
parents who serve as the Penn parent community’s ambassadors. Members
of the council support the Parents Fund and represent the classes and the
diversity of undergraduate students. Interested parents can also volunteer
for the association’s many events. Admitted Students Events in April help
current parents meet potential new families, allowing them to share their
experiences, while the commencement weekend and senior parents
activities in May bring volunteers in to congratulate graduating seniors and
their families. Parents may also volunteer at one of the association’s events
during other times of the year.
