To Whom It May Concern,
I write this letter on behalf of Brooke Conway to describe her dedication to her various
volunteer leadership commitments from last academic year.
I am an advisor for Associated Students (A.S.), a $20 million student-directed not-for-profit
auxiliary organization of San Diego State University (SDSU). This past academic year,
Brooke served as a Vice Chair for the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union Board, a
leadership role within the board which coordinates the programs of the Conrad Prebys
Aztec Student Union, a LEED Platinum student union that opened in spring of 2014. Brooke
and her fellow student union leaders laid the foundation for generations of students to
follow.
As a Vice Chair of the board, Brooke put in approximately 200 volunteer hours over the
course of the academic year. Through her work and leadership, the annual fall Homecoming
events expanded to include greater participation and were very fun and successful. Then in
the spring, she coordinated four well-attended, successful events related to Greenfest, the
annual week dedicated to celebrating school pride, diversity and sustainability. This was in
addition to her attendance at weekly board meetings, sub-committee meetings and her
assistance and support of other vice chairs’ events. Because of all the work she and the
volunteers she directed accomplished, the year was a very successful one and laid the
foundation for future union leaders to follow.
Thank you for this opportunity to speak on behalf of Brooke.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Esquivel-Parker,
Assistant Director of Government Affairs and Programs
