5. EARLY START
• Obtained his degree in Electrical Engineering from National
Institute Of Engineering, University of Mysore in 1967.
• Received Masters Degree from IIT Kanpur in 1969.
• 1st Job at IIM Ahmedabad where he worked as Chief System
Programmer.

• After that he started a company named Softronics in 1976 and that
company failed to perform well. Then he joined Patni Computers
Systems in Pune.
• Founded Infosys in 1981 with an initial capital injection of
Rs.10,000 which was invested by his wife Mrs Sudha Murty.

• Infosys Technologies has built the worlds Largest Corporate Education center in
the World located in Mysore.
• It is spread over area of 1.44 million sq. ft.
• It is built by Shobha Developers, one

• Infosys GEC I and II can train 14,000
employees at any given time.
• Facility has 147 training rooms, 485 faculty rooms,
42 conference rooms, five assessment halls, an induction hall,
a cyber cafe and two state-of-the-art libraries which can house over
140,000 books.
