3. Native Citizenship
If you are born in the United States (or territories) or
are born with a parent who is a US citizen, you are a
Native-born US Citizen.

4. Naturalized Citizenship
•The Naturalization process is the way people who
are not citizens by birth can become US Citizens.
•Naturalized Citizens are US Citizens, and have
the same rights, duties, and responsibilities as
native citizens.
•The only exception: Naturalized Citizens cannot
become President or Vice President

5. The Naturalization Process
1. Must be at least 18 Years Old to apply for
Citizenship
2. Must be a Lawful, Permanent Resident of the US
for at least 5 Years (3 Years if married to a US
Citizen)
3. Must have “Good Moral Character”
4. Must take and pass test on English, and US
History and Civics
5. Must Complete Interview
6. Must Swear Loyalty to the US
