The STaR Chart is a mandatory biennial self-assessment tool for Texas public schools to evaluate their technology and readiness based on the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology. The plan has four parts: teaching and learning, educator preparation, leadership and administration, and infrastructure. Seven Lakes High School's STaR Chart data shows it has done an outstanding job creating an environment where technology is embraced by teachers and used actively by students, and with continued administrative support and budget, the school can remain strong and proud.

2. Introduction: What is the STaR Chart? STaR stands for “School Technology and Readiness.” It is a teacher tool used for planning and self-assessment that is aligned with the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020.

6. Part I – Teaching and Learning Teaching and Learning is a topic that analyzes how computers and technology are used in the day to day operations of the school. Are computers being used to supplement lessons or are the students creating using technology.

7. Part II – Educator Preparation and Development How well prepared are the teachers for using technology as a tool in the classroom and are the teachers being given adequate training opportunities.

10. Conclusion As the data shows, we have done an outstanding job in creating an environment in which technology is openly embraced by the teachers and actively worked on by students.
