11. 11. What Does The Data Tell Us?
Teaching and Learning- the data is showing that teacher are using the technology in their teacher lead instruction. Students are interacting with the technology to explore higher level thinking. It also shows that the technology TEKS are being applied at the appropriate grade and content level. It also shows that the technology is being used outside the classroom for web based lessons and some teacher-student communication.
Educator preparation and Development- The data shows that teachers are getting proper profession development for using technology in the classroom. The data also shows that teachers are able to integrate the technology into promoting higher level thinking among students. Teachers are also able to participate in online training and learning to receive additional support.
12. 12. Continued…
Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support- The results show that campus administrators have a technology rich vision and campus improvement plan that staff and faculty believe and participate in. The data also shows that the students have access to the use of this technology and are allowed time throughout the school day to access it. The data also tells us that school administration is using monies to implement technology into the school infrastructure while securing up-to-date technology for student classroom use.
Infrastructure for Technology- This was our highest scoring area. The survey showed that our campus has been set up to allow the use for technology for both teacher and students alike. It shows us that we have enough computer for each student to be able to use technology on a regular basis. That the classroom are equipped with the proper technology to lead in technology based instruction, and that there is proper internet and resources access are available throughout the campus. It also means that access to learning is available outside the classroom and supported through campus based instruction.
13. 13. Where Do We Go From Here?
As a whole our campus is doing an excellent job keeping up with the growing demand for technology led instruction in the classroom. Our teachers are receiving the proper instruction and training. Administrators are developing visions based on the data on best practices for integrating technology into instruction and students learning. Access to the technology is available for all students and encouraged. Now as a school we must review our student assessment data and develop ways to not only have them use technology for exploratory purposes but also enable thee the opportunity to use technology to help tech themselves. This process takes time and development. Teachers must start making the use of technology required for certain activities and lessons, challenging students to control the technology and ultimately control their education success using this technology incorporating into the daily educational experience.
