1. The song I have chosen to use for my shot count is ‘Living for the Weekend’ by Hard-Fi. The
song is quite fast paced so there will be a range of shots from long ones to short ones. In this
music video there is 103 shots primarily of the band. The faster cuts are when the chorus is
played.
This is an establishing shot, this is an
important shot as it sets the scene
and subject of the music video. In
this shot it shows people possibly
going to work in suits and the song is
about working.
This is a long shot of the band,
commonly used in the rock genre to
show the performance aspect of the
song.
A lot of medium long shots are used
to show other members of the band
as well as the vocalist.
A lot of shots look like they were
filmed from a drone of some sort
creating nice high angle and BIV
shots throughout.
2. This is a close up shot, these are
used in music videos so that the
audience can see the main
member of the band who is usually
the vocalist as this fits the
demands of a record label, he is
the star image.
