1. in this video the artist is being represented as a gang leader and it shows all of his gang
members following him. they are wearing drop down jeans and jewellery which signifies that
they are rappers. this artist has been represented this way because people who rap in the
streets with their friends are meant to look hard. the lyrics go good with this video because
rappers usually swear and he has lots of swearing going on in his music video. the imagery
that has been used the most is medium close up and this is used because we get to see him
signing it while including his hand actions. the video goes good with the lyrics because they
are in a backstreet where know one can pass and they have used men on motorbikes who
have weapons. there are no other meanings because they are only based on street rappers.
this video contains another artist because he is similar to vybz and he is called russian. there is
no performance in this video only swinging his hands. the music video is set in USA because
this country loves rap. the scene of this music video is behind their back garden.

2. Camera Shots
Music video includes many long shots, medium
shots, close ups and extra close ups. This is to
emphasis the artist, location and emotions.
Close ups are used to not only show emotion
but to reflect the words of the song with the
movemnt of the artist lips. Shot length (time)
can be used to conote the meaning of the
song, for example quick snappy shots lasting
no loger than 5 seconds for a fast beat song
and long length shot. There are usually close
ups on instruments and certain, significant
props. Pans/tilts-these are to move to each
performer and can also be used to show the
location as it pans around. Low angle shot-
which are shot from a high location to give the
effect of a bird’s eye view.
3. Mis-en-scene
the mis en scene needs to be accurate as it
needs to connote the style/genre of the
music, and it is very good at conveying the
style of the music video. Props-All music videos
contain props depending on the genre and
type of song it is, such as, if it is a performance
style video, there would be performance
equipment, instruments, and stages and
lighting. Costume-This also depends on the
lyrics of the song as well as the genre. Certain
performers will have different outfits suiting
what they are representing in the video.
Location-The setting for music videos basically
sets the scene immediately and many settings
used are simple settings where many people
can relate to. For Example,Hip hop music
videos use quite dark colours, simple settings
and there are portrayals of women to show
their sexuality, which appeals to males. On the
other hand, the majority of hip hop music
artists are males and so, females are the fans.
