1. Support FMSC, a non-profit
that combats global starvation
and malnutrition, by registering
to participate in the Making
Calories Count Marathon!
Marco’s is putting a spin on the
classic 26.2 mile race, so how is
this “marathon” going to work?
Each runner will keep record
of the first 25.2 miles of the
marathon as they run
individually on their favorite
trails and in their community
in as many stretches as
needed.
Then, the runners will come
together on July 30th at 8:00
a.m. just outside the Marco’s
Briargate location (9420 Briar
Village Point) to run the final
mile.

Christian non-profit Feed My
Starving Children (FMSC) has
tackled world hunger since
1987 by sending volunteer-
packed, nutritious meals to 70
countries.
These meals are specifically
designed to reverse and
prevent malnutrition and are
used in schools, orphanages,
clinics and feeding programs
to break the cycle of poverty.
In 2015, FMSC welcomed
more than 1 million volunteers
to pack nearly 273 million
meals through its permanent
sites and nationwide
MobilePack program. The
Minnesota-based charity
spends more than 90% of total
donations directly on feeding
the hungry.

information.
2. A Short Story…
One night, a college student
named Amber could not seem to
fall asleep as she bemoaned the
number of calories she knew she
had eaten that day. She
contemplated when she would
possibly have time to go running
the following day and
determined that the world
would be a better place if people
who had too many calories could
simply give those calories to the
impoverished and malnourished
throughout the world. So – with
your help - that is what we are
doing!
Where does the money go?
The $15 registration fees and
profit made on the T-shirts sold at
the event will be donated to FMSC
to support the good work they do.
FMSC uses over 90% of all
donations to directly fund their
food distribution program. And,
every dollar provides 4½ meals!
“Wouldn’t the world be a better
place if those with extra calories
could gift them to the
malnourished and starving?”
How Can I Help?
By running in the Making
Calories Count Marathon, you
are racing to end hunger and
malnourishment throughout the
world. By registering to run and
burn off your accumulated
calories, you are “gifting” those
calories to 68 hungry people who
desperately need them!
What if I am not a “runner”?
No problem! You can walk the
marathon instead. Grab your
dog, your spouse, your family,
or a friend and walk your way to
ending global hunger!
