For Spring, Summer 2014, Comptoir des Cotonniers introduced a capsule collection of women’s accessories hand-made by local artisans in Guatemala, using pure cotton and natural leather. To realize it, Comptoir des Cotonniers worked with Mercado Global, a charity employing over three hundred craftswomen in Guatemala, aimed at promoting their self-sufficiency through business coaching and taking their wares to the international market. The collaboration with Comptoir des Cotonniers benefited 121 craftswomen in 21 communities, who worked over 20,000 hours to create the unique items. They are available now in Belgium, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and the USA.

4. The Mercado Global charity employs over 300 craftswomen in
30 cooperatives throughout the western mountains of Guatemala,
helping them break out of poverty by bringing their wares onto
the international market,and providing them with business coaching
to enable them to earn enough for themselves and their families
and help them gain confidence in themselves through their work.
The collaboration with Comptoir des Cotonniers benefited 121 crafts-

Chimaltenango and Totonicapán, who worked for over 20,000 hours
to create these unique items.
