About TOMS
TOMS mission is using
business to improve lives. It
was their mission when they
started 16 years ago and has
not changed. TOMS improves
lives through the power of
purchase. At TOMS, people
are proud to wear our impact
on their feet. When you buy
TOMS, you help fund access
to mental health resources for
the millions of people who
need them. They do this by
giving 1⁄3 of profits for
grassroots good, which
includes investing in impact
partners who are building
equity at the local level. Simply
put, when you Wear TOMS
you WEAR GOOD.
About Our Students
Based in Brooklyn, IS 392 is
dedicated to a
student-centered program
that promotes academic
excellence through an
enriched, rigorous
interdisciplinary curriculum.
Their vision is to equip
students with the tools for
success both educationally
and emotionally.
The City School, based in
Los Angeles, believes that
true learning and growth
happens in the context of an
engaged and caring
community. They are
dedicated to fostering an
environment in which
students feel connected and
safe which allows them to
explore, ask questions,
self-advocate, create
learning goals, and reflect on
their process and progress.
The school’s educational
program is guided by three
key aspects: School Culture,
Constructivism, and
Diversity & Multiculturalism.

4. Business Case Challenge
Through SuitUp, volunteers from SuitUp and students from IS 392 and The City
School participated in a SuitUp business competition with TOMS in which they
created a new shoe and marketing campaign based on a collaboration with one of
TOMS LGBTQ+ focused Impact Partners. Virtually and In Person, volunteers
coached students in various departments before helping them pitch to judges for a
cash prize.
