2. CENTENNIAL COLLEGE
After graduating from high school I didn’t know I wanted to do in the form of
post secondary education. I decided to go to Centennial College and become
successful. The most challenging part of being at Centennial was choosing a
program and sticking with it. I started with a marketing program. I then
switched to a human resources program. By deciding to switch programs I was
able to achieve higher marks than the marketing program and it was also
more enjoyable for me as well.
3. TASSIMO
I was employed with a company called Match Market tasked with creating brand
recognition for the Tassimo hot beverage maker. I would go to several different
stores demoing the machine. The most challenging part of my job was to create
value to the Tassimo. I rectified this informing potential customers of the different
capabilities of the Tassimo. For example the fact that it can make more than 8
different drinks, versus other machines and their limited drink selection making.
The outcome from this was that I was able to become an great ambassador of the
Tassimo and I was able to get a bonus due to the fact of store sales.
4. FUTURE SHOP
During my employment at Future Shop the main goal was to become and stay one
of the best sales people in a competitive work environment. A road block I had in
my way was that I was only working part time. I had to work with the hours that I
got and maximize my time on my shifts. I would show up early for work and
reduce my breaks. I ended up being the top sales part time worker in my
department and amongst the full time I ranked second. I learned great time
management skills from Future Shop.
5. NEW YORK CITY
I have made many trips to New York City. Taking in the atmosphere there is amazing. Its dubbed
as the city that never sleeps. New York City is one of the largest and most recognizable cities in
the world. There are many different industries there that can really jump start your career. I
would love to work in New York City. However my main issue is that I want to work in New York
City. Its slightly difficult for me because I don’t have a green card and I’m not legally able to work
there. A benefit that I have is that my dad lives there and he has started my paperwork to get
me started to work there. The issue that I am having with this is that this is a slightly long
process. Things are still in motion right now, so there is no real resolution but I’m confident that
I will one day work in New York City.
