1. Do you have any career regrets?
To be honest I haven’t really got any
regrets, I strongly believe that everything
happens for a reason. I have certainly
made mistakes but these are not regrets
because I’ve always learned a great deal
from them.
What inspires you to get up
and go to work each day?
I’ve been inspired through the course of
my career by some really strong female
leaders within Kelly. But what inspires
me most is the team and watching them
grow, it may sound a bit cheesy but it’s
absolutely true!
What were your favourite
subjects in school?
Art, English
and Politics.
What top five skills or characteristics are necessary to succeed
in your position?
Looking to the future,
what would you still like to achieve
in your career?
I currently manage a program and team
within EMEA but ultimately I would like a
global role, I would also like to be seen to
be instrumental in developing processes
to help the company fail faster and
improve more quickly so that we are able
to keep abreast of the ever changing
talent demographic.

How do you motivate yourself
when things are not going
as you would like them to?
By having a clear goal, looking ahead
and being focussed on achieving the
end result. I also accept that there are
some things which for one reason or
another we can’t change; I know we will
always win the war- but will inevitably
lose some battles along the way!
How did you get in to this industry?
As is the case with most people, it was coincidental; when I was at school I never dreamed my
career would be in recruitment! Initially I wanted to be an actor. After leaving school I studied a
degree in Fashion with a view to becoming a Fashion Journalist and conducted my placement
in Paris for Schiaparelli. Following this when I returned to London, I got a work placement
at The Times and went on to work for a PR company but neither of these roles was paid
employment and there was only so long I could go on without an income. After a visit to Kelly’s
Kingston office I accepted my first paid job working within the payroll department. From these
somewhat humble beginnings I was asked to be a part of a review body tasked with rolling
out a new automated system called ‘TOMASS’ across the whole of the UK. I spent around 18
months within this body, training and supporting each of the UK’s branch teams and as a result
got to grips with every aspect of grass roots of the business and also spent time working in a
Kelly Office managing a busy desk. I then went on to working in training and then corporate
accounts and after a period of 7 years at Kelly, I left to set up the on-site division of another
company, where I stayed for a further 5 years. But the story does not end there of course...
whilst at the other company I saw a number of vacancies advertised at OCG and was enticed
back to Kelly by my current role!
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I enjoy travel and that’s one of the things
that excites me about my job. I would
really like to use my free time to learn a
language but as I work across so many
countries I have no idea which language
to choose! I’m also really in to seeing
live music and I try to see as many bands
that play in my home town of Brighton.
