•View a range of media products across
the three sectors and, for each, identify
what you think the producer intended
to be the main purpose of the product.

inform, escape), identify a media product you consume in each
sector.

•Imagine you are the producer of each of the
media texts we viewed earlier in the lesson. What
other purposes might you have for making the
media product other than to inform, entertain or
provide escapism?
•Discuss in pairs.

• Producers might create media products for:
o profit
o community benefit
o raising awareness.
• They might also create products for:
o critical acclaim
o inspiration
o experimentation
o innovation
