Experience/Career Synopsis
SR. TECHNICAL WRITER | EATON AEROSPACE | JULY 2000 – NOVEMBER 2015
· Served as senior technical writer assigned to Design Engineering group. Acted as sole in-house technical
writer/publications librarian. Responsible for maintaining approximately 250 civilian/military repair
publications for intermediate/depot level repair personnel. Primary products were electro-mechanical
aerospace actuators and brushless DC motor controllers. Research phase involved interpreting engineering
drawings, Bill of Materials and vendor-purchased equipment brochures.
· Performed procedural validation and verification on completed manuals to ensure accuracy and proper
tooling use.
· Familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) used to create/revise
publications. Some basic use of CorelDraw graphic programs for creation of simplistic illustrations. Utilized
multiple PDF editing tools and SGML/XGML programs.
· Acted as primary point of contact for government-sponsored (USAF) requirement to create 15
repair/maintenance manuals in support of Boeing C-17 aircraft operations. Project involved working
closely with Boeing/Air Force personnel based at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. Hosted said personnel at our
facility to witness and validate written manual instructions for electro-mechanical actuators and associated
test equipment.
· Received Letter of Commendation from USAF for successful on-time/on-cost project completion.
TECHNICAL WRITER | IMPERIAL DESIGN SERVICE | SEPT. 1992 – MAY 1995
· Gathered engineering data on-site at General Motors facilities and various machine shops to create operator
manuals and Lock Out/Tag out placards for various presses and CNC machines.
· Managed technical publications department (2 technical writers and 2 graphic illustrators) for local
engineering services company.
TECHNICAL WRITER (CONTRACTED) - BRUNSWICK BOWLING AND BILLIARDS | MAY 1995 – JUNE
2000
· Provided technical writing services to revise existing publications and create new installation and
maintenance manuals in support of automatic scorers and pinsetting machines. Worked closely with
technical illustrator, engineering and aftermarket groups to ensure accuracy and quality of publications.
· Assisted in physically installing automatic scorers and monitoring systems in bowling centers and
performed diagnostic systems checks.

· Corresponded daily with major airlines regarding product technical engineering support and publications

Cessna) for all publication queries/deliverables.
· Provided semi-annual in-house classroom training on maintenance manual usage and change requests to
repair center personnel.
