2. Typeface Font
The ‘typeface’ is a group name for the same font that comes in different fonts for
example Times New Roman is a group with lots of different Times New Roman
fonts in it for example Times New Roman Bold or Times New Roman Italic. The
‘Font’ is how the font comes out e.g. bold etc.

6. Glyph
A glyph is a graphic symbol that provides the appearance or form for a character
when it is presented in a certain way.

7. Other glyphs
Other common glyphs are used in words to either create an email or express the
way you're writing a word for example you would use an ‘!’ to show that you’re
shouting.

10. Kerning
Kerning allows you to adjust on how close you want your lettering to be. This can be useful in a movie
poster as it could give you a small clue on what the film could be about e.g. if the film actors are lost and
separated then the lettering would be separated.
11. Tracking (Leading)
Leading is a way of controlling the space in between your lines of text. This could indicate what a film can
be about e.g. whether the film is a tightly packed film or a more open world film etc.
12. Dingbat
A dingbat in typography is a certain way to describe fonts that have shapes and
symbols in place of words and numbers like a normal font would have.
