- 1. The masthead is placed at the top of the page so it is one of the first thing the audiencecan see. The masthead is placed behind the main image, this is because the main image is morelikely to attract the audience’s attention and will persuadethe reader to but the magazineif they are interested in the main image. Usually the main image is of main character of the film, where as in this addition of the magazineit is all the main characters together in a group pose. This usually happens when the film they are focusing on is based around a group of people rather than one person. Occasionallyeven if there are many main character the magazinewill create multiple covers with each main character on or will choose one character which they believe will draw in the most attention. The main image fills most of the page since it is the focus of the front cover. The models are looking directly into the camera, this creates a direct address between the model and the reader/ audience. This is a technique which is used to draw the audience in and hopefully persuade them to buy the magazine. Usually the tag line is above the masthead but can differ depending on the layout of the cover that addition. In this case the tagline is above the title of the film which links with the main image. The tagline is just below the centre of the page making it stand out. The title of the film ‘Justice League’ is the major sell line of the magazine. It is placed towards the bottom of the page but is very large making it stand out to the reader while promoting the focus of the magazine. The puff is towards the top right of the page and is placed in front/ overlapping the masthead. It is also placed very close to one of the models, this helps it to stand out. The other sell lines are placed at the top and bottom of the magazine and are promoting articles within the magazine. The other articles will be of the same theme/ genre that is the focus of the magazine. The other sell lines include other film titles or actor’s names to attract an audience.
