2. PRIORITY FOR
HEALTHY,
HYGIENIC FOOD
Introduction : Now a days because of busy schedule of parents and
fussiness of children junk food is in vogue. We are handling the project
to bring the awareness among parents and children regarding “Not to
use junk food, processed food, aerated drinks.
Need statement: we should not use junk food because they are only the
source of instant energy. When we see the nutritional information from
the wrapper of junk food we can observe the same. Junk food does not
have dietary fibers which is reported to delay glucose absorption
preventing extreme swings in blood sugar level. On the other hand junk
food does n’t have complex carbohydrate which are considered
healthier because they are digested in the body slowly, providing a
steady source of energy (Ragi and oats biscuits can be replaced by chips
etc.)
Work plan and Methodology : students and teachers actively
participated in this project. Students collected the junk food related
material and went through their nutritional information, teachers and
students collected the relevant material and information and tried to
convey message regarding stop use of junk food through charts /
posters. We used flex used banner for chart purpose. We bring out
useful things by using waste material.
Results: Results can be seen in long term definitely because we have just
initiated a movement against junk food. We are noticing the change of
items children carry to school.

3. Data analysis : We can discourage junk food, processed food, aerated
drinks and we should speak of fresh food – salads of raw fruits and
vegetables. More AlKALINOGENIC FOOD ( fruits and vegetables) should
be encouraged.All elders must switch over to available local millets
based food as they are high on right nutritional value.
Solution to problem: Schools should have checks at various levels to
ensure children should not bring junk food, in schools food monitor can
be appointed and they can ensure that children don’t bring junk food
every day.
It might be a problem for mothers as they have to think of fresh
homemade food but this will do WONDERS for the children.
Healthy body lead to healthy mind.
 Feel:-nstead of packing balanced diet in lunchbox more and more
parents preferring to give junk food to their kids which shows the
careless attitude of parents.
 Imagine :- bringing awareness among parents, teachers and
students regarding advantages of healthy food and disadvantages
of junk food.
 DO:- we can organize seminars and in that way we can exchange
views regarding healthy, nutritive food. At the same time we can
make the parents learn to use different cereals and vegetables in
the daily intake.
