 “From Stone to Steel” (1932) a collection of
short poems.
 Towards the Last Spike his romantic
narrative is a national mythmaking work.

3.  Core concept of the poem- Old replaced by
New.
 Loss of power with age ,younger generation
overthrowing old.
 The majesticity of Eagle
 The psychic trauma of defeat.

found sitting on the crag ( throne).
 A Silver flash catches its attention and
bedims his vision.
 The eagle realizes its enemy to be an
extraordinary intruder.
