Group 1 - A father motivating his child to do good
Group 2 - Friendly conversations
Group 3 - A teacher telling the classroom rules
Group 4 - Making Announcements
Group 5 - Birthday Surprise

Communication?
- Communication functions refer to how people
use language for different purposes.
- refers to how language is affected by different
time, place, and situation used to control the
behavior of people used to regulate the nature
and amount of activities people engage in

1. Regulation and Control
-controls others by managing their behavior
Examples:
A teacher telling his/her students to keep quiet
A speaker speaks in a forum

- these are the specific words chosen and used.
- the speaker and the listener should be respectful of
each other’s culture as well as of their age, gender, social
status and religion.
