To whom this may concern:
It is my sincere interest to become an essential and permanent member of your organization. As a
graduate of Argosy University formerly known as the American School of Professional Psychology, I
am eager and look forward to exploring employment opportunities that will provide me with a
challenge, and professional growth.
I began my professional career as a contract Civil Rights Specialist with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory
Commission (NRC), in the Office of Small Business and Civil Rights in September of 2009. While
working with the NRC, I have developed comprehensive and in-depth knowledge in the area of
Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Civil Rights, and Affirmative Employment. I possess applied
knowledge in all areas of complaint processing and have implemented methods of standardizing
and systematizing EEO complaint files and processes within the Civil Rights Program.
I demonstrate my ability to work independently and collectively and pursue self-development
through continual learning, coalition building, and interpersonal communication. I promote
teamwork by maintaining effective relationships with internal and external customers. For
example, I provide support to Senior Civil Rights specialists, investigators, counselors, and EEO
mediators. I also work collaboratively on various cases and projects with agency staff including the
Offices of the General Counsel, the Office of Administration, Office of the Chief Human Capital
Officer, and other regional offices.
I am a highly motivated, dedicated, outgoing person who thrives on challenges. I am a versatile
team player who enjoys assisting others in a dynamic, fast paced environment. My degrees in
Criminal Justice (B.S.) and Forensic Psychology (M.A.), along with my professional experience in the
field of EEO, can be easily transferable to begin a new career with any Agency.
Please review my resume for consideration and feel free to contact me at 240-395-3617 to discuss
potential opportunities in your organization.
Sincerely,
Courtney N. Smith
