EXPERIENCE: Fall 2016:Lab Technician at Capital Prosthetics and Orthotics Center, Zanesville, Ohio
Developed various prosthetic and orthotic devices for patients of all ages and orthopedic
conditions.Devices include prosthetic casings,partial foot orthosis,specialized shoes for
patients with diabetes and other foot and leg conditions, and orthotic shoe inserts.
Fall 2015 & Spring 2016: Design Engineering Honors Project at the University of Akron,
Akron, Ohio
Designed and developed an orthopedic multi-tool device with a Senior Design Team. Progressed
through the phases of the design process,including: multiple iterations of prototype
development, design verification and validation, market analysis,and manufacturing. Used both
technical reports and presentations to demonstrate product progression and project results to
customers, medical professionals,and peers. The device patent is currently pending.
Summer 2015: Mechanical Engineering Co-op at Myer’s Controlled Power, North Canton,
Ohio
Designed, created, edited, and organized 3D models and 2D schematics of parts and assemblies
used for company projects. Proficiently learned to navigate programs used by the company,
including SolidEdge, AutoCAD, and the filing system, Syteline. Worked in collaboration with
engineers, designers,and technicians, as well as independently. Completed numerous company
assignments to create schematics for power distribution centers (electrical substations).
Summer 2014: Chemical Balance Regulator at J.M. Smucker’s, Orrville, Ohio
Learned how to proficiently run the company’s Prophecy program for delivering
chemicals and monitoring their effectiveness,adjusted pH for company
products,added and mixed chemical components to create product, and used
computers and lab equipment to test and record the progression of the product
being made.
Spring 2014: Volunteer Lab Assistant in Polymer Engineering Lab, Akron, Ohio
Spent 4-8 hours a week training and learning laboratory techniques,including:
creating bilayers of drug-encasing material using the Microm DS 50 program,
using polarizing microscope imaging, producing and measuring nanofibers
created by electrospinners using a fibroin extraction procedure, and using pH
measurement and calibration to produce solutions for the bilayer process.
Summer 2012 & 2013:Administrative Assistant,Legacy Hair Studios,
Wadsworth,Ohio
Managed accounts payable,including paying for current invoices, organizing
bill-paying, mailing, and filing. Created agendas for meetings and memos to
keep staff informed of upcoming events.Managed social media and delivered supplies
to five salon locations.
