13.  Argeș is a county of Romania, in Muntenia, and the
residence of this county is Pitești.
 The main tourist destinations are the town of Pitești,
the town of Curtea de Argeș, the Câmpulung-Rucăr
area, the Făgăraș mountains, the Transfăgărășan
road and Cotmeana Monastery.

 Pitești municipality it is located at about 110 km
from Romania’s capital city, Bucharest.
 Pitești it is represented by its wide green areas,
natural parks, sports, culture and art. An
important part of the Pitești heritage it is
represented by the cultural institutions, libraries,
art schools, cinemas, theatres, the museum, the
Art Galleries, the place of worship etc.

Pitești municipality distinguish itself through
actions and cultural manifestations with permanent
character, the most important one being “The Tulips
Symphony”, considered to be the symbol of the city,
making the municipality of Pitesti to be known as
“The Tulips City” in Romania and over its bordes as
well.

16. OUR COLLEGE...
”Maria Teiuleanu” College of Economics, one of
the most representative schools for the town’s life, has
the origin in the former century, being the only
commercial highschool in Argeș county.

17. Over 800 students aged 14-18 study in 22
classrooms, 17 laboratories, 3 computer labs. Along
the years, our highschool has continuously
upgraded and modernized the educational process.
The carrying out of the educational process is
ensured by a teaching staff consisting of 75
members.

18. Another form of our institution is the vocational
education, full-time courses (3 years) getting remarkable
results in training students for jobs like: cooks, waiters,
traders, public service department assistants.

19. The teaching staff train their students to take part in
contests between schools and in many other social-cultural
activities to attend conferences on scientific and cultural
subjects. We won more than 350 prizes in over 50 contests at
national and international fairs of training firms.

INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

24.  In November 1899, a magnanimous gesture (I am wondering how many are able to make it today?) of a humanitarian soul but also
with real conscience of what it truly means school, training and education in society, makes Mary I. Dimitrie-Teiuleanu to emerge
from patterns of those times. She donates half of her wealth to "the Ministry of public instruction": an estate of 800 acres called The
Lordly Rope (in Teiu, Argeş County) and a couple of houses intended for the professional school for girls which came into being on 6
September 1897. As a result of this high spirit of charity she was capable of, Maria Teiuleanu, was awarded by a Royal Decree, with
the order of "Bene Merenti".
 As former students declared, it appears that the teachers were true examples, models of behaviour and punctuality. Although they
were from different political parties, they all followed a single policy in the class: the school policy. Since its establishment, students
practice took place at various shops in the city, banks, industrial and commercial enterprises.
 Teachers who have worked in this school were distinguished by very good results in the work, as mentors of the students in
olympiads or artistic activities and as authors of textbooks, articles published in the local press and participations at scientific
communications sessions. This educational institution has encouraged permanent promotion of human and professional training of
specialists of high intellectual attire, with a solid economic culture and specialized training that gives them the competence to operate
effectively in the economy market, being the only high school in the County with this profile.
 Each year, our students participate in a number of extracurricular activities and school Olympiads, competitions, round tables,
briefings, reports and scientific sessions, exhibitions, etc. Since 2003 till present, 2018, "Maria Teiuleanu" became widely known in
the country and abroad through our many students shareholdings editions of International Fairs of Companies, where they had
conversations in English, negotiated and drew up contracts, presented their work, have made deals and settlements, participated in
various competitions, and the result was according to their effort: cups, medals, prizes, distinctions, diplomas which stand as proof
in the high school lobby windows.
 "Maria Teiuleanu" was and it is involved in a number of European projects, such as Comenius Multilateral Comenius Regio,
Leornado da Vinci, Erasmus +, as well as the partnership of friendship and cooperation with "Economska Scola Kragujevac-Serbia,
"starting in 2009.
 Year after year we pride ourselves on the promovation rate in the baccalaureate examination which is over 90%.
 Our college profiles and specializations offer graduates the opportunity to find a job in businesses in various economic sectors and
to adapt quickly to changes of demand for specialists in the present and in the future.
 The experience helped us to get as far away and we strive to get the highest position.
