1. Assisted in the Channel Islands restoration project of Calleguas Creek by planting various types of figs
and mule fat to aid in the recovery process after the recent devastating Camarillo Springs fire.
2. Monitored the health of sandy beaches by physically taking sand samples to measure the population
size of wildlife on two local beaches.
Volunteer Phenology Research Project: September – December 2014
Participated in the study of how precipitation and temperature affects the blooming times of flowers
around California State Channel Islands University campus. Analyzed data to identify biological
patterns and trends of flowers blooming in relation to climate change.
