Coffs Ambassadors Tours is a program run by Coffs Harbour City Council in partnership with NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and community volunteers. Volunteer tour guides are trained by NPWS and lead nature-based interpretive tours to educate the community about local biodiversity and promote conservation. The program aims to increase awareness of local biodiversity, encourage residents to adopt behaviors that protect it, and build a network sharing conservation information. Surveys found the tours successfully educated participants and influenced them and others to support biodiversity through actions like removing weeds and reducing litter.

Dr. Laurie J. Raymundo presented on the challenges facing tourism and coral reefs in Guam with climate change. Guam has a population of around 160,000 and relies heavily on tourism, with over 1.5 million visitors in 2016, most from Japan. Five marine preserves were established in 1997 due to overfishing concerns. Monitoring of coral health from 2006 to 2017 showed a 5% decrease in live coral cover from 2006 to 2013 and a 40% decrease from 2013 to 2017, corresponding to periods of annual bleaching and extreme low tides. Moving forward, partnerships between scientists, managers, tourism industry, and leaders will be important to better manage local stressors and increase reef resilience in a changing climate

The Canon camera took high-quality images easily and its lens was also lightweight. The white/black screen produced bright portrait photos like magazines use. The flash lights lit photos during the shoot and settings could be adjusted.

Led by media experts Paul Steinle and Sara Brown, they have visited 29 newsrooms so far to understand how they are adapting to new technology and surviving. They find that while some newspapers face challenges, many newsrooms understand digital media and are using multimedia tools to remain relevant in their communities. The project aims to continue documenting newsrooms and provide insight into the future of local newspapers.
