I am an Albany State University graduate currently working for the Office of Global Programs, where I have
contributed to doubling study abroad participation and tripling the number of Gilman International Scholarship
recipients at ASU from 2014 to 2015 . I am hoping to earn a Master’s of Business Administration to propel me towards
a career where I can utilize my Bachelors Degree in Biology and the knowledge I will gain in international and local

study abroad programs, planning faculty development events, organizing
promotional events, marketing skills, and web design.

Research focused on use of biotechnology tools to compare and predict 3-D and tertiary structures of
5 protein sequences closely aligned with the gene TRO (trophinin) found on band q11.21 of the
human chromosome X. Preparations included the knowledge and use of bioinformatics tools such as
BLAST searches and structure prediction programs such as Swiss-Prot and RasMol.
Study of the Amide Bond (Spring 2012)
Internship at Equinox Chemicals of Albany, GA
Research Mentor Pete Klein, Senior Chemist and Analyst
Research internship at a growing local chemical company, Equinox chemicals, that specializes in
organic synthesis of various molecules on small and large scale levels. Project focused on study of
amide bonds and included the synthesis of the amide Benzyl benzamide through the use of four
different methods.
Study of Arboreal and Ground Amphibian Species using Refugia (Spring & Fall 2012)

Research Mentor Dr. Ravindra Malik
Research grant was provided by Albany State University’s center for undergraduate research. Field
research was conducted at Chehaw Park, 1 of only 2 accredited zoos in Georgia. Chehaw Park has a
large surrounding area of ponds, forests, and swamps where natural “refugia” traps were used to track
the park’s frog population and behavior.
