Grade Point Averages
The grade point average is calculated by dividing total points by grade point
average hours. Grades earned in transfer courses are displayed on the
transcript, but are not included in the student’s grade point averages. Three
specific grade point averages are displayed on the Georgia College transcript.
The Term Grade Point Average, labeled “TReg,” is the grade point average
for the term listed.
The Institutional Grade Point Average, labeled “Total Institution,” includes
grades earned in residence at Georgia College & State University. When a
course has been repeated, only the last grade earned is included in the
calculation of this grade point average.
The Regents’ Cumulative Grade Point Average, labeled “CReg,” includes all
grades earned in residence at Georgia College & State University. When a
course has been repeated, all attempts are included in the calculation of this
grade point average.
Honors
The designations summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude are
awarded at graduation to undergraduate students with high academic
achievement. No honors are granted for graduate degrees.
Undergraduate students may be awarded the designations of Dean’s List or
President’s List for academic achievement in a specific term.
Eligibility for Readmission
Academic eligibility to enroll is based on the student’s academic standing and
the University’s admissions policies at the time of readmission. Additional
