Educational Biography Essay
Educational Biography One of my very first memories as a child was going to music class with my mother when I was in kindergarten. We went
every Mondays and Wednesdays during night. I loved singing songs and clapping my hands, I couldn't wait to go back when it was all over. That
brought me into piano lessons, which started in 1st grade till 9th grade; I could play all day if I could. My whole family is very musical and during
Christmas we get all of our friends together and play Christmas songs. In Canada our grade system was a bit different, it went JK, SK, kindergarten,
first grade, second grade, third grade, etc. I was always so sad on the last day of school because I wouldn't see all of my friends until the first day of the

Jordan and my family have noticed that quite a bit since I've started college. Since my work closes at 11 or 12, I don't get home till late and then I
have assignments to do which causes me to not get enough sleep. I need to work on my stress levels more and control my anger when I'm tired or
just push my limit. School always comes first, but it's hard when life keeps going and you just need a second to take a moment. Strengths that I do
posses are that I always get everything done on time, even if its last minute. I feel that being an extravert is a strength; I love being a team leader
and being involved in group discussion and projects. I am trying so hard this year to get good grades so I can get either in to Arizona State
University or Northern Arizona University. My motivation and determination keeps me going and I just remind myself every night to try my hardest
in everything I do, so I can reach my goals to be successful in

Task 3: My Educational Autobiography
I still have no idea of what I am doing with my life but I am happy with the direction it is heading in. Although many people know from a young age
what they wish to become when they are older, I am still unsure. My indecisiveness has driven all of my educational choices, from being in year 8
choosing my GCSE options to choosing my course at university.
It was when it came to choosing the subjects for my A–level studies that I was pushed away from 'soft subjects' like media and studies and product
design and told "With your grades you should be trying for things like English and perhaps Chemistry" as this is what would get me into university and
employed in the future. I didn't succumb to the pressure of the higher powers in the education system as I had before and instead stuck with Media
studies. The class was small, with...show more content...
However, soon after choosing this as an option I was approached by the deputy head who told me: "your talents will be wasted on a course like that
Emily, pick something more intelligent". As previously mentioned, I was impressionable and of course obliged and picked Sociology instead. Myschool
allowed people from year 9 to choose two GCSE options per year until year 11 as well as all of the compulsory courses, the only time Media
studies was an option was in year 11 and so I chose it based on the idea that we would sit and watch films and get unblocked access to our social
media accounts. I was gladdened when we found this was not the case. Media Studies, for me, consisted of much more than the other subjects, I
understood it in a way that I never understood the quadratic formula or why volcanoes formed. This was another underlying reason as to why the
media route was the best one for

I am senior at Parkside High School. However, I am not a "typical" Parkside High School student who has a perfect high school experience on what
any other "normal" students have done in their lives. Every day when I go to school, I always have anxiety whether I'm a good student to reach
out of my success and having all this pressure on my shoulders and stress on my mind. These are the kind of obstacles which I have overcome and
how it's shaped me of who I am. Here are the things that you need to know about me; I'm an honor roll student for the past four years and my GPA
is always above 3.5. I am a student in the career and technology education (CTE) program for nursing and a member of Skills USA program at my
school this year. I also love to be independent and working hard on my grades. This is my story of how I had hard time dealing with my issues which
is I suffered from having a learning disability and how I overcame this type of obstacles in my life....show more content...

realized that English is the hardest language in the world, and it's hard for me to learn a new language. When I read an English book, I see English
words but in my mind, I can understand Spanish words. I couldn't translate the words and have a hard time pronouncing

My Educational Autobiography
My Educational Autobiography Our experiences in life shape who we become. Experiences are all around us. Sometimes, things that seem so
insignificant at the time become part of who we are and who we want to be. It is not always just the good experiences that shape us, but also the
bad. Reflecting on our past experiences will help us grow. My goal is to become a teacher, and not just a teacher, but a person who will impact the
lives of those I am teaching so that one day when someone is writing their autobiography, I will be the one that they reflect on as the one who made
an impact. When I began elementary school, I remember being scared to go to school and leave my mom. Each morning I would cry and beg to stay
home. By the time I would...show more content...
I sat down with her and explained to her the situation. There was no judgement, only complete compassion. At the time, I just remember thinking
how nice she was to be so understanding, but looking back I realize now that how much she really influenced me. I want to be able to help my
students in their times of need the way she helped me. I want my students to trust me and know that I am willing to help them whatever the situation
may be. I did not realize initially in my college years that teaching was what I was called to do. I had begun my education in the nursing program. My
mom was a nurse and I admired her and believed that I would follow in her footsteps. However, while in the nursing program, I began working as the
childcare coordinator for my church. It was there that my love for teaching flourished. I watched children as they brightened up when they were learning
. I began to see that my calling in life was education. It was then that I knew I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. I had found something
that I was very good at. I was comfortable with myself and my abilities to not only tech these children, but to help them grow, and have faith in their
abilities. It wasn't necessarily a person who influenced me this time, but the experience that I had. In high school, I did well and had close to a 4.0
GPA. I even graduated in the top 25 of my class. I went into college in my first few semesters also

Miguel Huerta Period 1 September 8, 2010 Educational Autobiography A lot of people think education is just something you get in school, but in
reality education comes from different places and people not just school and teachers. For example, way before I started school I was already being
educated by my parents, they taught me how to eat, behave, use the bathroom, talk, and a lot of other things that help out in life. I started my
educational career in John F. Kennedy Elementary. I don't really remember my years there because I only went there for Kindergarten and 1st grade.
After that, I went to Sepulveda Elementary. That was a learning experience because I had to basically be on my own for a couple of days since I was

Sadly to say, I didn't really have a teacher in middle school that made a big impact in my life but I matured on my own and got my stuff together
and put my work first and girls second. When I graduated 8th grade I was so excited because I had accomplished something special but I knew
that wasn't the end but in fact a beginning to an even bigger obstacle, high school. I still remember on the day of graduation my mom went alone
because my dad was working and after I told her that this wasn't the last time she would see me walking down for a diploma because in couple more
years I would be doing it again. That was a big deal because she never graduated high school neither did my dad because my mom had me and they had
to care for me. Then finally I made it to high school. This was the place where everything I learned up to now would help me. My 9th grade year was
really good I met new friends that I still talk to, got good grades but other than that it was a normal year. When I went to 10th grade I was in AOF
(Academy of Finance) or Global. At first I was a little optimistic about being in it because I didn't really know a lot of people but I stayed because I
was a little curious about the whole business stuff going on in there. It was a good decision to stay because I really enjoy all the business related
work and I am looking forward to even having some sort of a business career later on in life. The teacher that really made an impact on me is the

I began Mrs. Auston's interview with the first background question, tell me about your educational experiences in school. Mrs. Auston responded:
My educational experience started out good. My teachers were caring and they took their time needed to teach you. The experience changed in 3rd
grade because
I was not promoted to 4th grade. My teacher was Ms. McCool, I remember because I felt my world had come to an end due to all of my friends would
now be ahead of me. So after repeating 3rd grade I got it together and I was a good student. 5th grade was new, changing classes was a big deal. Mr.
Davis was my homeroom teacher and when I think about it he didn't, I mean he really didn't teach us. I truly believe he kept liquor in his desk...show

My oldest, who is a senior this year struggled in many areas. Reading and writing are strong areas for him, where math is his weakest, as you know.
His problem is a lack of confidence and peer pressure. He needs encouragement at all, all times. He has to have reminders. I have to ask what's going
on in each class and write down to help him keep track. I am always communicating with his teachers and counselors.
My middle child is completely different. She had a great start, education was introduced early. So there is a foundation for her to build on. She is
strong in all areas and wants to learn. She wants to be the head of the class, but her attitude and personality can cause problems. She thinks she
knows it all and is never wrong. It is funny when her and my oldest argue. She is broad out of her mind, and because of this she is always in
trouble. My third child is a lot harder. Education was introduced early, but he is not getting it. I think because of two reasons. One being that he was
born early and I think there is a small delay. Second, I had and have to spend so much time making sure the older two are on their game that he
slipped through the cracks. I had lots of extra time with the older children due to there being a large age gap between the first and

Educational Autobiography:
My education was based on rules , norms , moral and civil obligations at very young age. These are the mission, philosophy and foundation of
Catholic's education that I grow up with. I can honestly say that been educated under these principles that helped me to adopted an invaluable concept
of discipline and responsibility. I can be anything more than grateful to spend twelve years of my life learning from outstanding teachers and Nuns. I
enjoyed coming to school every singled day. I am here writing these words and my memories come to life.
We have diversity in our school faculty , these teacher and Nuns mader our learning experiences more interested. I remember having two different

cases there were Nuns, but not always. Teacher that was qualified was able to teach religions as well. We had a full curriculum , with all the subjects
including , music, craft and art. These was taught in almost all the grades. Like a mandatory skill that needed to be learned. I do remembers all my
years in school one more detailed than others. But, I remember all. My first grade and my high school graduation, specially the last year, Whose

Personal Autobiography : My Learning Disability
Educational Autobiography I have always lived in Yucca Valley, so it is only natural to finish my education in the same area. I was born in
Inglewood, Los Angeles in 1994. My parents moved to Hawthorn within a few months. After three years I found myself here in the desert. I have
always lived in Yucca Valley, so it is only natural to finish my education in the same area. First, Onaga Elementary was the beginning of my
educational experience. My first steps towards the school was actually bloodcurdling. It was the first time leaving my comfort zone to meet other
kids. The anxiety was taking over my body. The comfort I created for myself was popped. Adjustment has always been an issue for me. I developed
a learning disability. I started English as a Second Language Program (ESL) for my whole elementary career. ESL was a place on campus with three
rooms. There were about four other kids in my grade, but I mostly went on my own. ESL tough me how to retain information, so I could be more of an
effective learner. Adaption to new course material was the motto. Second, La Contantia was the JuniorHigh school I attended. Middle School was a
fight to get use of environment. Everything was new; kids, teachers, attitudes, classes, and rules. The kids were way more mature, than I was at the
time. I was exposed to believes and other deeper meanings to life. Since I was young, all these new realities, caused me to lose focus on my
educational goals.

Educational Autobiography Prelude I completed an educational interview with two age group of people. The first age group was 71 years of age and
the second age group was 55 years of age. During my interview, I asked each individual several questions concerning their educational experience.
пѓ First age group (71 years of age): During my interview, I asked Mrs. P what was the curriculum like during her school years (I didn't give her a
specific time period. I asked her to tell me any information that she could remember.)? Mrs. P stated, "the curriculum consisted of four basic subject
which included: English, Math, Science, and History. They were offered extra curriculum activities such as: football, basketball, track and field,
baseball/softball, band, choral, music, and home economics." Only one test was required upon graduating high school, no credit hours were offered
during this time. Mrs. P described the facilities as very old and ruined down. The buildings were very dusty including the desks in which they
provided for the students. Sometimes when it rained, the floors would be wet from the leaks in the buildings. The academic school year started in
September (the Tuesday after Labor Day) through May (school ended the third week in May). Mrs. P graduated high school and she obtained a
Bachelor's Degree at Jackson State University. During grade school years there were about 32 students in a class and 210 students in Mrs. P
graduating class. She described school as

While growing up, my family always pushed me to learn something new. Being a kindergarten teacher, my mother taught me the basics of reading
and writing. Those basic skills laid the foundation for all of my reading and writing experiences. In elementary school, book reports and spelling
bees were my favorite activities. Throughout middle and high school, I had one determined teacher, who was my teacher for all of my reading
and writing classes. I believe experiences in my early years, my interests in elementary school, and a specific teacher in high school made me the
reader and writer I am today. To emphasize, being the child of a teacher definitely has its benefits. As soon as I physically could, I was reading and
writing. When I was younger I loved Scooby Doo books. My earliest memory happens to be when my mom was in the hospital having my twin
sisters. I was waiting outside, reading a Scooby Doo book. I remember my first day of kindergarten very vividly. I expected my first year of school to
be much more difficult than it actually was. From a young age, my parents stressed how important grades were. I believe my grades played an...show

Every year we would have a book report. At this age, I was obsessed with horses, therefor I always chose to read books about horses. I read books
from the Phantom Stallion series, as well as Seabiscuit. I also enjoyed art, so after reading the book, making a creative poster was also fun. The
competition of trying to win a book report was something I was interested in. Around fourth grade, my school started to have spelling bees. My best
friend was the only person, other than myself, who wanted to win. If I won at my elementary school, I could proceed to district, state, and even
national levels. Sadly, I never made it past state. Even though I was never actually successful at spelling bees, it was a fun activity for me during my

Elementary School Autobiography
Imagine me at the start of elementary school. A five–year–old wallflower. Somehow, in a class of 12 kids, I managed to isolate myself. I was always
alone in a crowded room. I watched, I listened, I got to know my peers, on a deeper level than just their names, but to them I was only "Rachel," an
enigma.
As time went on, I watched my classmates form friendships. They talked at lunch, played at recess, and hung out after school. And where was I in this
idyllic portrait of an elementary school society? Removed from it; the eternal spectator. Soon I came to realize the name of the force that was
holding me back: shyness. Once it had a name, I was able to work on it. I got to a point where I had some friends and was comfortable around the other
kids at school. Had I conquered my shyness? No. But I was closer than ever before. It felt like I had climbed a mountain to get to where I was. Then
middle school came, with 135 new faces, then high school with 360 more, and each time it felt like I had reached the summit only to find an entire
mountain range lying ahead of me....show more content...
It's huge, and also, shyness peaks around late middle school. Among seventh and eighth graders, kids who are soon to start high school, 54% label
themselves as shy. This is problematic because it means that over half of North's incoming freshmen have "the tendency to be tense, worried, and
awkward during social interactions with strangers." It's doubtless that this carries on into sophomore year for many of us. We can't enjoy school to its
fullest if we constantly feel uncomfortable surrounded by hundreds of new

Educational Autobiography As a young student my goal was to fly under the radar going unnoticed. However, time combined with life experiences
changed my perspective and I am now very motivated to cultivate my academic skills to reach my full potential. Although I was smarter than most of
my peers, as a product of growing up in lower income neighborhoods I was becoming as Rose puts it " One of those rough–hewn intellectuals whose
sources are a mix of the learned and the apocryphal" (3). In other words I was one of those intellectuals who was rough around the edges and my
sources were limited to what I figured out along with being doubtful. The more time went by, the more I learned that I was in charge of the
outcome of my life, and that I didn't have to follow the path that was laid before me that so many of my friends and family had taken. Grade
school came easy for me, but I didn't want to be seen as a nerd. I usually picked up on subjects pretty easily without any help at home. It's a good
thing too because my parents didn't have the desire nor the capability to help with schoolwork. So most of the time I did the best I could in class to
prove to myself and to the teacher that I was more than capable. When it came to homework I thought I was too cool for that, and besides, my trouble–
making buddies and I had our own agenda for after school. Introducing Chess to the 7th and 8th grade students at Fairfax Junior High was a very
exciting time. It started out as a conversation

My Educational Autobiography
As I mentioned in my Educational Autobiography, the educational philosophies I was exposed to during grades K–12, while not entirely ineffective,
were not always experienced as positive. Reading the Anyon (1980) article helped to clarify my middle–class schooling reality during the 1980's:
In the middle–class school, work is getting the right answer. If one accumulates enough right answers, one gets a good grade. One must follow the
directions in order to get the right answers, but the directions often call for some figuring, some choice, some decision making. For example, the
children must often figure out by themselves what the directions ask them to do and how to get the answer: what do you do first, second, and perhaps
third? Answers are usually found in books or by listening to the teacher. Answers are usually words, sentences, numbers, or facts and dates; one writes
them on paper, and one should be neat. Answers must be given in the right order, and one cannot make them up (pp. 4–5).
While I realize that may not fall under the category of a philosophy of education, this passage summed up my take away from the experience. I was
able to navigate the system in order to get the right answers and the desired grade, but I was not encouraged toward inquiry or discussion of complex
ideas. I was not rebellious enough to withdraw from the system, but I was also not fully engaged in learning for its own sake. I found my intrinsic
motivation for learning to dance outside of

My educational autobiography consists of my time from my early days in elementary school until the day I graduated from the University of
Southern California. I had many great experiences as well as some dreadful ones. The experiences from my educational career will mold the
teacher I will become in the future. My elementary schools years were spent at Kenter Canyon Elementary. I remember my very first teacher in
Kindergarten, Mrs. G, she was very kind to all her students. Her compassion towards students who were scared to be away from their parents for
the first time was extraordinary. Another memory I have at Kenter was when, Ms. Montgomery, who was in charge of the cafeteria would come to
our fifth grade class to discuss her life experiences during the civil rights movement. Mr. Osay, my teacher would let her speak to us directly and I
thought it was incredible that she was a few inches away from Dr. King when they marched on Washington. Mr. Osay was a great teacher, but I also
recall a moment when one of the female students wrote me a note. Mr. Osay, took the note from my hand, gathered the class together, and read it
aloud. I was humiliated and I did not want to go back to school. This is an experience I will remember when I am a teacher, to ensure my students feel
safe and welcomed at all times in my class. My middle school years were spent at Paul Revere Middle School. My sixth grade English teacher, Ms.
Schwartz, was the first teacher

My Academic Autobiography Thinking about college and your future career can be very overwhelming at the beginning. There's so much to consider
when it comes to getting ready for college: where to go and what to study. I've heard it said that sometimes a student will enter college fully aware of
what they want to do in life, and doggedly reach their undergraduate goal after four years of diligent study.
My college career didn't start off on the best footing. I was a dreadful student in high school, chronically absent, and not doing homework even when I
could be bothered to attend class. My Arlington, Virginia high school was competitive, and my...show more content...
After a year of this mediocre performance, the worst possible thing happened from the perspective of academic success: I fell in love with a
graduating senior. She was returning to her native Delaware on graduation, and with the finely honed reasoning that only eighteen year olds can
display, I decided the obvious response on my part was to drop out and go with her.
Rather than bore the faithful reader with the details, suffice it to say that over the course of the next ten years, while moving around the East Coast, I
amassed piecemeal credit from Shepherd College, Virginia Commonwealth University, Northern Virginia Community College, North Carolina
Wesleyan College, and Strayer University. Meanwhile, I had changed majors from Music Composition to Music Education to Communications before
finally becoming involved with information technology.
The '90s were a great time for technical people. No one cared about college degrees, as demand for competent labor was too high for employers to care
about anything other than ability. After the burst of the dot–com bubble, however, things changed completely. One of those changes was my attitude
toward completing my degree. Since the ads for jobs in my field had gone from saying "Associate degree preferred" to "Bachelor's degree required,
Master's preferred," it seemed that the time had come to finish what I had started. There

This autobiography will suffice as an explanation of prior academic learning that I've acquired over a 31–year span of my work and educational
lifetime. My learning autobiography will display how I've been promoted through the ranks of each company I spent the most time with, gaining lasting
knowledge along the way, it is here that I will demonstrate my experiential learning. Throughout my career, there have been many opportunities for me
to partake in on–the–job–training and workshops to get the skills that have allowed me to strengthen my abilities of professionalism. With the training,
I've acquired you will get a grasp of how I got the information that I have applied to real–life situations and have developed consequently thereof.
In 1985, when I began my career with Acme Markets Inc., I set forth with fresh eyes where I could be molded because this was my first place of
employment. My first position held was as a bagger at the retail store, and moving on to cashier within a few weeks, this was my customer service
experiential learning. Still looking for more growth I pursued a position as a router within the transportation department. Here is where I learned how
to study a map to connect roads and highways to allow the drivers to ascertain the numerous destinations they were sent to reach for deliveries or
pickups. The access to computers, then was not as it is today, so all of this was done somewhat manually where I entered the information from

Educational Technology Autobiography
My experience with educational technology from K–12 to post–secondary education:
The very first form of educational technology that I encountered was the use of the overhead in the first grade. In the third grade I was moved to a
gifted and talented Math class; therefore, allowing my fellow classmates and myself access to a computer lab that contained seven apple computers.
Every Friday we were allotted fifteen to twenty minutes on these computers to play Number Munchers and Oregon Trail. In fourth and fifth grade I
continued with my gifted and talented Math programs, but was also added to gifted and talented Science and English programs. In these programs I
again used the computer but this time I...show more content...

However, most of my rollercoaster's ended up falling off tracks and plummeting the people on them to their deaths.)
It was not until Middle School that I was introduced to more sophisticated educational technology. By this point all of my classes were Gifted and
Talented classes; thus, we were given more advantages in technology compared to other students, (now this seems quite unfair to me, but at the time,
it did not come across my mind as being unfair.) In the sixth grade I was asked to acquire and learn how to use a TI–83 calculator... a calculator I used
up until my senior year of High School. I also learned how to go to the library and use the computer in our library at school to look up our catalog
of books. Furthermore, I was taken to a computer lab two days a week for a typing class, where like the one I was forced to take over the summers
of my childhood, was a simple program that wanted you to type back the paragraphs that appeared on the screen, and then it would grade you on your
accuracy and speed. In my seventh grade English class we were taught how to use a copy–machine, so we could put together a Literary Magazine of
our works. Furthermore, in my Technology class we learned how to use many different kinds of machines (i.e. sanders, drills, and jigsaws,) in order to

My education started not long after I was born in 1989. I attended Ruth Washburn Nursery School, for 3 years, but I don't have a lot of memories of
what I learned. 3 things stand out to me. This was a place of great fun!! I learned how to love running. I could run for ages. Secondly the
plecostomus's were the coolest fish in the fish tank! Lastly I remember the song that goes, "Love is something if you give it away, give it away, give
it away." Skipping ahead into the future I am now in 4th grade. I enrolled in a choice school out in the middle of the woods "School in the Woods".
Almost everyday we went on nature hikes around the property and to a pond not far behind the class rooms. Everyday I had math class with Mr.
Eiles, and he was the first teacher that made me see how much talent I had for math and numbers. In the spring time, we were assigned a research
project that taught me much about planning ahead and how much time things really take to accomplish. Unfortunately, during this time, I lost a lot
of connection to the friends that I used to have, so when I went back to my home school I felt disconnected from most of my friends, I realized that
my teachers could be better friends than most of my peers. My teachers were smarter and kinder that the kids my age. Through out the rest of my
educational career I was drawn to a teacher. In 5th grade Mr. Redman, 6th Mr. Lopez, 7th Mr. Milner, 8th Mr, Oldfield. Bringing us now into a time

getting on the teachers good side at the beginning of the year. This has allowed me go mess around a little bit more throughout the school year and
have more fun. This is so because the teachers know you are a good kid that gets your work done and you are just joking around. Now that I am a
senior and I'm in my last year of high school I do not stress about very much such as tests and homework. I made sure to take my harder classes my
first few years of high school that way I could make an easier schedule for my senior year. My freshman year was not too tough, however it was a

Educational Biography Essay

  • 1. Educational Biography Essay Educational Biography One of my very first memories as a child was going to music class with my mother when I was in kindergarten. We went every Mondays and Wednesdays during night. I loved singing songs and clapping my hands, I couldn't wait to go back when it was all over. That brought me into piano lessons, which started in 1st grade till 9th grade; I could play all day if I could. My whole family is very musical and during Christmas we get all of our friends together and play Christmas songs. In Canada our grade system was a bit different, it went JK, SK, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, etc. I was always so sad on the last day of school because I wouldn't see all of my friends until the first day of the next grade....show more content... Jordan and my family have noticed that quite a bit since I've started college. Since my work closes at 11 or 12, I don't get home till late and then I have assignments to do which causes me to not get enough sleep. I need to work on my stress levels more and control my anger when I'm tired or just push my limit. School always comes first, but it's hard when life keeps going and you just need a second to take a moment. Strengths that I do posses are that I always get everything done on time, even if its last minute. I feel that being an extravert is a strength; I love being a team leader and being involved in group discussion and projects. I am trying so hard this year to get good grades so I can get either in to Arizona State University or Northern Arizona University. My motivation and determination keeps me going and I just remind myself every night to try my hardest in everything I do, so I can reach my goals to be successful in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Personal Narrative: My Educational Autobiography Task 3: My Educational Autobiography I still have no idea of what I am doing with my life but I am happy with the direction it is heading in. Although many people know from a young age what they wish to become when they are older, I am still unsure. My indecisiveness has driven all of my educational choices, from being in year 8 choosing my GCSE options to choosing my course at university. It was when it came to choosing the subjects for my A–level studies that I was pushed away from 'soft subjects' like media and studies and product design and told "With your grades you should be trying for things like English and perhaps Chemistry" as this is what would get me into university and employed in the future. I didn't succumb to the pressure of the higher powers in the education system as I had before and instead stuck with Media studies. The class was small, with...show more content... However, soon after choosing this as an option I was approached by the deputy head who told me: "your talents will be wasted on a course like that Emily, pick something more intelligent". As previously mentioned, I was impressionable and of course obliged and picked Sociology instead. Myschool allowed people from year 9 to choose two GCSE options per year until year 11 as well as all of the compulsory courses, the only time Media studies was an option was in year 11 and so I chose it based on the idea that we would sit and watch films and get unblocked access to our social media accounts. I was gladdened when we found this was not the case. Media Studies, for me, consisted of much more than the other subjects, I understood it in a way that I never understood the quadratic formula or why volcanoes formed. This was another underlying reason as to why the media route was the best one for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Student Autobiography I am senior at Parkside High School. However, I am not a "typical" Parkside High School student who has a perfect high school experience on what any other "normal" students have done in their lives. Every day when I go to school, I always have anxiety whether I'm a good student to reach out of my success and having all this pressure on my shoulders and stress on my mind. These are the kind of obstacles which I have overcome and how it's shaped me of who I am. Here are the things that you need to know about me; I'm an honor roll student for the past four years and my GPA is always above 3.5. I am a student in the career and technology education (CTE) program for nursing and a member of Skills USA program at my school this year. I also love to be independent and working hard on my grades. This is my story of how I had hard time dealing with my issues which is I suffered from having a learning disability and how I overcame this type of obstacles in my life....show more content... That resulted in me having speech problems and trouble with reading and writing. It's hard for me to learn because, Spanish is my first language. I realized that English is the hardest language in the world, and it's hard for me to learn a new language. When I read an English book, I see English words but in my mind, I can understand Spanish words. I couldn't translate the words and have a hard time pronouncing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Educational Autobiography My Educational Autobiography Our experiences in life shape who we become. Experiences are all around us. Sometimes, things that seem so insignificant at the time become part of who we are and who we want to be. It is not always just the good experiences that shape us, but also the bad. Reflecting on our past experiences will help us grow. My goal is to become a teacher, and not just a teacher, but a person who will impact the lives of those I am teaching so that one day when someone is writing their autobiography, I will be the one that they reflect on as the one who made an impact. When I began elementary school, I remember being scared to go to school and leave my mom. Each morning I would cry and beg to stay home. By the time I would...show more content... I sat down with her and explained to her the situation. There was no judgement, only complete compassion. At the time, I just remember thinking how nice she was to be so understanding, but looking back I realize now that how much she really influenced me. I want to be able to help my students in their times of need the way she helped me. I want my students to trust me and know that I am willing to help them whatever the situation may be. I did not realize initially in my college years that teaching was what I was called to do. I had begun my education in the nursing program. My mom was a nurse and I admired her and believed that I would follow in her footsteps. However, while in the nursing program, I began working as the childcare coordinator for my church. It was there that my love for teaching flourished. I watched children as they brightened up when they were learning . I began to see that my calling in life was education. It was then that I knew I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. I had found something that I was very good at. I was comfortable with myself and my abilities to not only tech these children, but to help them grow, and have faith in their abilities. It wasn't necessarily a person who influenced me this time, but the experience that I had. In high school, I did well and had close to a 4.0 GPA. I even graduated in the top 25 of my class. I went into college in my first few semesters also Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Educational Autobiography Essay Miguel Huerta Period 1 September 8, 2010 Educational Autobiography A lot of people think education is just something you get in school, but in reality education comes from different places and people not just school and teachers. For example, way before I started school I was already being educated by my parents, they taught me how to eat, behave, use the bathroom, talk, and a lot of other things that help out in life. I started my educational career in John F. Kennedy Elementary. I don't really remember my years there because I only went there for Kindergarten and 1st grade. After that, I went to Sepulveda Elementary. That was a learning experience because I had to basically be on my own for a couple of days since I was the new...show more content... Sadly to say, I didn't really have a teacher in middle school that made a big impact in my life but I matured on my own and got my stuff together and put my work first and girls second. When I graduated 8th grade I was so excited because I had accomplished something special but I knew that wasn't the end but in fact a beginning to an even bigger obstacle, high school. I still remember on the day of graduation my mom went alone because my dad was working and after I told her that this wasn't the last time she would see me walking down for a diploma because in couple more years I would be doing it again. That was a big deal because she never graduated high school neither did my dad because my mom had me and they had to care for me. Then finally I made it to high school. This was the place where everything I learned up to now would help me. My 9th grade year was really good I met new friends that I still talk to, got good grades but other than that it was a normal year. When I went to 10th grade I was in AOF (Academy of Finance) or Global. At first I was a little optimistic about being in it because I didn't really know a lot of people but I stayed because I was a little curious about the whole business stuff going on in there. It was a good decision to stay because I really enjoy all the business related work and I am looking forward to even having some sort of a business career later on in life. The teacher that really made an impact on me is the teacher for whom I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Personal Narrative: My Educational Experience I began Mrs. Auston's interview with the first background question, tell me about your educational experiences in school. Mrs. Auston responded: My educational experience started out good. My teachers were caring and they took their time needed to teach you. The experience changed in 3rd grade because I was not promoted to 4th grade. My teacher was Ms. McCool, I remember because I felt my world had come to an end due to all of my friends would now be ahead of me. So after repeating 3rd grade I got it together and I was a good student. 5th grade was new, changing classes was a big deal. Mr. Davis was my homeroom teacher and when I think about it he didn't, I mean he really didn't teach us. I truly believe he kept liquor in his desk...show more content... My oldest, who is a senior this year struggled in many areas. Reading and writing are strong areas for him, where math is his weakest, as you know. His problem is a lack of confidence and peer pressure. He needs encouragement at all, all times. He has to have reminders. I have to ask what's going on in each class and write down to help him keep track. I am always communicating with his teachers and counselors. My middle child is completely different. She had a great start, education was introduced early. So there is a foundation for her to build on. She is strong in all areas and wants to learn. She wants to be the head of the class, but her attitude and personality can cause problems. She thinks she knows it all and is never wrong. It is funny when her and my oldest argue. She is broad out of her mind, and because of this she is always in trouble. My third child is a lot harder. Education was introduced early, but he is not getting it. I think because of two reasons. One being that he was born early and I think there is a small delay. Second, I had and have to spend so much time making sure the older two are on their game that he slipped through the cracks. I had lots of extra time with the older children due to there being a large age gap between the first and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Educational Autobiography: My education was based on rules , norms , moral and civil obligations at very young age. These are the mission, philosophy and foundation of Catholic's education that I grow up with. I can honestly say that been educated under these principles that helped me to adopted an invaluable concept of discipline and responsibility. I can be anything more than grateful to spend twelve years of my life learning from outstanding teachers and Nuns. I enjoyed coming to school every singled day. I am here writing these words and my memories come to life. We have diversity in our school faculty , these teacher and Nuns mader our learning experiences more interested. I remember having two different coach in my PE class, one was the coolest Sor. Maria she was the coolest Nun ever, and Professor Rodrigo. We have religions teachers, in some cases there were Nuns, but not always. Teacher that was qualified was able to teach religions as well. We had a full curriculum , with all the subjects including , music, craft and art. These was taught in almost all the grades. Like a mandatory skill that needed to be learned. I do remembers all my years in school one more detailed than others. But, I remember all. My first grade and my high school graduation, specially the last year, Whose doesn't ? The last year when was time to say goodbye. High school graduation, where we all were Kings and Queens. That year felt like never end, but at the same time, we Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Personal Autobiography : My Learning Disability Educational Autobiography I have always lived in Yucca Valley, so it is only natural to finish my education in the same area. I was born in Inglewood, Los Angeles in 1994. My parents moved to Hawthorn within a few months. After three years I found myself here in the desert. I have always lived in Yucca Valley, so it is only natural to finish my education in the same area. First, Onaga Elementary was the beginning of my educational experience. My first steps towards the school was actually bloodcurdling. It was the first time leaving my comfort zone to meet other kids. The anxiety was taking over my body. The comfort I created for myself was popped. Adjustment has always been an issue for me. I developed a learning disability. I started English as a Second Language Program (ESL) for my whole elementary career. ESL was a place on campus with three rooms. There were about four other kids in my grade, but I mostly went on my own. ESL tough me how to retain information, so I could be more of an effective learner. Adaption to new course material was the motto. Second, La Contantia was the JuniorHigh school I attended. Middle School was a fight to get use of environment. Everything was new; kids, teachers, attitudes, classes, and rules. The kids were way more mature, than I was at the time. I was exposed to believes and other deeper meanings to life. Since I was young, all these new realities, caused me to lose focus on my educational goals. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Educational Autobiography Prelude I completed an educational interview with two age group of people. The first age group was 71 years of age and the second age group was 55 years of age. During my interview, I asked each individual several questions concerning their educational experience. пѓ First age group (71 years of age): During my interview, I asked Mrs. P what was the curriculum like during her school years (I didn't give her a specific time period. I asked her to tell me any information that she could remember.)? Mrs. P stated, "the curriculum consisted of four basic subject which included: English, Math, Science, and History. They were offered extra curriculum activities such as: football, basketball, track and field, baseball/softball, band, choral, music, and home economics." Only one test was required upon graduating high school, no credit hours were offered during this time. Mrs. P described the facilities as very old and ruined down. The buildings were very dusty including the desks in which they provided for the students. Sometimes when it rained, the floors would be wet from the leaks in the buildings. The academic school year started in September (the Tuesday after Labor Day) through May (school ended the third week in May). • 10. Autobiography Essay While growing up, my family always pushed me to learn something new. Being a kindergarten teacher, my mother taught me the basics of reading and writing. Those basic skills laid the foundation for all of my reading and writing experiences. In elementary school, book reports and spelling bees were my favorite activities. Throughout middle and high school, I had one determined teacher, who was my teacher for all of my reading and writing classes. I believe experiences in my early years, my interests in elementary school, and a specific teacher in high school made me the reader and writer I am today. To emphasize, being the child of a teacher definitely has its benefits. As soon as I physically could, I was reading and writing. When I was younger I loved Scooby Doo books. My earliest memory happens to be when my mom was in the hospital having my twin sisters. I was waiting outside, reading a Scooby Doo book. I remember my first day of kindergarten very vividly. I expected my first year of school to be much more difficult than it actually was. From a young age, my parents stressed how important grades were. I believe my grades played an...show more content... Every year we would have a book report. At this age, I was obsessed with horses, therefor I always chose to read books about horses. I read books from the Phantom Stallion series, as well as Seabiscuit. I also enjoyed art, so after reading the book, making a creative poster was also fun. The competition of trying to win a book report was something I was interested in. Around fourth grade, my school started to have spelling bees. My best friend was the only person, other than myself, who wanted to win. If I won at my elementary school, I could proceed to district, state, and even national levels. Sadly, I never made it past state. Even though I was never actually successful at spelling bees, it was a fun activity for me during my elementary Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Elementary School Autobiography Imagine me at the start of elementary school. A five–year–old wallflower. Somehow, in a class of 12 kids, I managed to isolate myself. I was always alone in a crowded room. I watched, I listened, I got to know my peers, on a deeper level than just their names, but to them I was only "Rachel," an enigma. As time went on, I watched my classmates form friendships. They talked at lunch, played at recess, and hung out after school. And where was I in this idyllic portrait of an elementary school society? Removed from it; the eternal spectator. Soon I came to realize the name of the force that was holding me back: shyness. Once it had a name, I was able to work on it. I got to a point where I had some friends and was comfortable around the other kids at school. Had I conquered my shyness? No. But I was closer than ever before. It felt like I had climbed a mountain to get to where I was. Then middle school came, with 135 new faces, then high school with 360 more, and each time it felt like I had reached the summit only to find an entire mountain range lying ahead of me....show more content... It's huge, and also, shyness peaks around late middle school. Among seventh and eighth graders, kids who are soon to start high school, 54% label themselves as shy. This is problematic because it means that over half of North's incoming freshmen have "the tendency to be tense, worried, and awkward during social interactions with strangers." It's doubtless that this carries on into sophomore year for many of us. We can't enjoy school to its fullest if we constantly feel uncomfortable surrounded by hundreds of new Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Educational Autobiography As a young student my goal was to fly under the radar going unnoticed. However, time combined with life experiences changed my perspective and I am now very motivated to cultivate my academic skills to reach my full potential. Although I was smarter than most of my peers, as a product of growing up in lower income neighborhoods I was becoming as Rose puts it " One of those rough–hewn intellectuals whose sources are a mix of the learned and the apocryphal" (3). In other words I was one of those intellectuals who was rough around the edges and my sources were limited to what I figured out along with being doubtful. The more time went by, the more I learned that I was in charge of the outcome of my life, and that I didn't have to follow the path that was laid before me that so many of my friends and family had taken. Grade school came easy for me, but I didn't want to be seen as a nerd. I usually picked up on subjects pretty easily without any help at home. It's a good thing too because my parents didn't have the desire nor the capability to help with schoolwork. So most of the time I did the best I could in class to prove to myself and to the teacher that I was more than capable. When it came to homework I thought I was too cool for that, and besides, my trouble– making buddies and I had our own agenda for after school. Introducing Chess to the 7th and 8th grade students at Fairfax Junior High was a very exciting time. It started out as a conversation Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. My Educational Autobiography As I mentioned in my Educational Autobiography, the educational philosophies I was exposed to during grades K–12, while not entirely ineffective, were not always experienced as positive. Reading the Anyon (1980) article helped to clarify my middle–class schooling reality during the 1980's: In the middle–class school, work is getting the right answer. If one accumulates enough right answers, one gets a good grade. One must follow the directions in order to get the right answers, but the directions often call for some figuring, some choice, some decision making. For example, the children must often figure out by themselves what the directions ask them to do and how to get the answer: what do you do first, second, and perhaps third? Answers are usually found in books or by listening to the teacher. Answers are usually words, sentences, numbers, or facts and dates; one writes them on paper, and one should be neat. Answers must be given in the right order, and one cannot make them up (pp. 4–5). While I realize that may not fall under the category of a philosophy of education, this passage summed up my take away from the experience. I was able to navigate the system in order to get the right answers and the desired grade, but I was not encouraged toward inquiry or discussion of complex ideas. I was not rebellious enough to withdraw from the system, but I was also not fully engaged in learning for its own sake. I found my intrinsic motivation for learning to dance outside of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. My Educational Autobiography Essay My educational autobiography consists of my time from my early days in elementary school until the day I graduated from the University of Southern California. I had many great experiences as well as some dreadful ones. The experiences from my educational career will mold the teacher I will become in the future. My elementary schools years were spent at Kenter Canyon Elementary. I remember my very first teacher in Kindergarten, Mrs. G, she was very kind to all her students. Her compassion towards students who were scared to be away from their parents for the first time was extraordinary. Another memory I have at Kenter was when, Ms. Montgomery, who was in charge of the cafeteria would come to our fifth grade class to discuss her life experiences during the civil rights movement. Mr. Osay, my teacher would let her speak to us directly and I thought it was incredible that she was a few inches away from Dr. King when they marched on Washington. Mr. Osay was a great teacher, but I also recall a moment when one of the female students wrote me a note. Mr. Osay, took the note from my hand, gathered the class together, and read it aloud. I was humiliated and I did not want to go back to school. This is an experience I will remember when I am a teacher, to ensure my students feel safe and welcomed at all times in my class. My middle school years were spent at Paul Revere Middle School. My sixth grade English teacher, Ms. Schwartz, was the first teacher Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Academic Autobiography Essay Galindo 1 Juan Galindo Professor Student Success September 9, 2013 My Academic Autobiography Thinking about college and your future career can be very overwhelming at the beginning. There's so much to consider when it comes to getting ready for college: where to go and what to study. I've heard it said that sometimes a student will enter college fully aware of what they want to do in life, and doggedly reach their undergraduate goal after four years of diligent study. My college career didn't start off on the best footing. I was a dreadful student in high school, chronically absent, and not doing homework even when I could be bothered to attend class. My Arlington, Virginia high school was competitive, and my...show more content... After a year of this mediocre performance, the worst possible thing happened from the perspective of academic success: I fell in love with a graduating senior. She was returning to her native Delaware on graduation, and with the finely honed reasoning that only eighteen year olds can display, I decided the obvious response on my part was to drop out and go with her. Rather than bore the faithful reader with the details, suffice it to say that over the course of the next ten years, while moving around the East Coast, I amassed piecemeal credit from Shepherd College, Virginia Commonwealth University, Northern Virginia Community College, North Carolina Wesleyan College, and Strayer University. Meanwhile, I had changed majors from Music Composition to Music Education to Communications before finally becoming involved with information technology. The '90s were a great time for technical people. No one cared about college degrees, as demand for competent labor was too high for employers to care about anything other than ability. After the burst of the dot–com bubble, however, things changed completely. One of those changes was my attitude toward completing my degree. Since the ads for jobs in my field had gone from saying "Associate degree preferred" to "Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred," it seemed that the time had come to finish what I had started. • 16. Learning Autobiography This autobiography will suffice as an explanation of prior academic learning that I've acquired over a 31–year span of my work and educational lifetime. My learning autobiography will display how I've been promoted through the ranks of each company I spent the most time with, gaining lasting knowledge along the way, it is here that I will demonstrate my experiential learning. Throughout my career, there have been many opportunities for me to partake in on–the–job–training and workshops to get the skills that have allowed me to strengthen my abilities of professionalism. With the training, I've acquired you will get a grasp of how I got the information that I have applied to real–life situations and have developed consequently thereof. In 1985, when I began my career with Acme Markets Inc., I set forth with fresh eyes where I could be molded because this was my first place of employment. My first position held was as a bagger at the retail store, and moving on to cashier within a few weeks, this was my customer service experiential learning. Still looking for more growth I pursued a position as a router within the transportation department. Here is where I learned how to study a map to connect roads and highways to allow the drivers to ascertain the numerous destinations they were sent to reach for deliveries or pickups. The access to computers, then was not as it is today, so all of this was done somewhat manually where I entered the information from Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Essay about Educational Technology Autobiography Educational Technology Autobiography My experience with educational technology from K–12 to post–secondary education: The very first form of educational technology that I encountered was the use of the overhead in the first grade. In the third grade I was moved to a gifted and talented Math class; therefore, allowing my fellow classmates and myself access to a computer lab that contained seven apple computers. Every Friday we were allotted fifteen to twenty minutes on these computers to play Number Munchers and Oregon Trail. In fourth and fifth grade I continued with my gifted and talented Math programs, but was also added to gifted and talented Science and English programs. In these programs I again used the computer but this time I...show more content... we installed a program to build rollercoaster's, and after they were built we were able to test them to see if people would actually be able to ride them. However, most of my rollercoaster's ended up falling off tracks and plummeting the people on them to their deaths.) It was not until Middle School that I was introduced to more sophisticated educational technology. By this point all of my classes were Gifted and Talented classes; thus, we were given more advantages in technology compared to other students, (now this seems quite unfair to me, but at the time, it did not come across my mind as being unfair.) In the sixth grade I was asked to acquire and learn how to use a TI–83 calculator... a calculator I used up until my senior year of High School. I also learned how to go to the library and use the computer in our library at school to look up our catalog of books. Furthermore, I was taken to a computer lab two days a week for a typing class, where like the one I was forced to take over the summers of my childhood, was a simple program that wanted you to type back the paragraphs that appeared on the screen, and then it would grade you on your accuracy and speed. In my seventh grade English class we were taught how to use a copy–machine, so we could put together a Literary Magazine of our works. Furthermore, in my Technology class we learned how to use many different kinds of machines (i.e. sanders, drills, and jigsaws,) in order to build and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Ruth Washburn Nursery School My education started not long after I was born in 1989. I attended Ruth Washburn Nursery School, for 3 years, but I don't have a lot of memories of what I learned. 3 things stand out to me. This was a place of great fun!! I learned how to love running. I could run for ages. Secondly the plecostomus's were the coolest fish in the fish tank! Lastly I remember the song that goes, "Love is something if you give it away, give it away, give it away." Skipping ahead into the future I am now in 4th grade. In the spring time, we were assigned a research project that taught me much about planning ahead and how much time things really take to accomplish. Unfortunately, during this time, I lost a lot of connection to the friends that I used to have, so when I went back to my home school I felt disconnected from most of my friends, I realized that my teachers could be better friends than most of my peers. My teachers were smarter and kinder that the kids my age. Through out the rest of my educational career I was drawn to a teacher. In 5th grade Mr. Redman, 6th Mr. Lopez, 7th Mr. Milner, 8th Mr, Oldfield. Bringing us now into a time when I grew and learned the most Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My Educational Autobiography: Middle School Educational Autobiography I have attended Mid–Buchanan my whole life, other than pre–school which I attended my mom school that she teaches at in the St. Joseph School District. I have been at Mid–Buchanan for elementary school, middle school, and high school. Some of my favorite elementary teachers were Mrs. Steiner, Mrs. Goeller, Mrs. McNorthern, and Mr. House. These teachers made a great impact on my life to start out myeducation career. In middle school, my favorite teachers consisted of Mrs. Burns, Mrs. Foster, and Coach Kountz. I have always made sure to make a good first impression on my teachers so they would know that I was a good kid and student. In high school I have done the same thing as far as getting on the teachers good side at the beginning of the year. This has allowed me go mess around a little bit more throughout the school year and have more fun. This is so because the teachers know you are a good kid that gets your work done and you are just joking around. Now that I am a senior and I'm in my last year of high school I do not stress about very much such as tests and homework. I made sure to take my harder classes my first few years of high school that way I could make an easier schedule for my senior year. My freshman year was not too tough, however it was a different experience than what I had been used to in middle school. My sophomore and junior year of high school were definitely my toughest! During the course of these two years I took and bunch of honors classes to be sure I graduated with honors. The only classes I needed to take my senior year were personal finance and I wanted to take A+ so I would have some of my college payed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
