The Jacksonville Teacher Residency (JTR) is a flagship urban teacher residency program in Florida that prepares STEM graduates to teach science and mathematics in urban middle and high schools through a one-year teaching apprenticeship and Master's degree program. The residency provides $20,000 stipends, guaranteed job placement, and intensive training to equip residents to be passionate and effective teachers in underserved schools.

JTR is unique to other teacher preparation programs because it provides
residents with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction while
completing a one-year teaching apprenticeship with a master teacher

Qualified applicants will…
• Have a degree in a STEM discipline
• Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the
last 60 hours of undergraduate study
