EXPERIENCE
U.S. Navy | Machinist Mate Chief (Submarine Service) | July 1995 - July 2015
• Planned, scheduled and supervised preventive and corrective maintenance conducted by
technicians and provided reliability engineering for the work-center to ensure compliance
with Department of the Navy and OSHA regulations.
• Coordinated with submarine shipyard engineers to identify root-cause failure and execute
the complex repair and rebuild of vital systems and equipment for 8 overhaul periods.
• Worked closely with shipyard engineers to develop process improvement that would
increase the reliability and efficiency of machinery and equipment by using data gathered
from trend analysis and detailed system testing.
• Maintained up to 5 years of quality assurance, preventative and corrective maintenance
records in order to monitor for trend analysis and root-cause failure in the work-center.
• Supervised a team of up to 12 people daily to ensure all quality and safety procedures were
strictly adhered to while handling, maintaining and storing up to $21 million of ordnance.
• Coordinated and maintained a proper material procurement and storage program; conducted
submarine safety quality assurance reviews; documented field changes; verified and
developed procedural documentation; conducted quality assurance safety after-action
reviews; and reviewed work packages for critical paths and resources needed.
• Trained and mentored junior personnel on working independently to effectively troubleshoot
and repair machinery in accordance with technical manuals and standard operating
