2. Why Does it Resonate with You?
This goal resonates with me because living in the Pacific Northwest and being
surrounded by nature has caused me to have love for it. My parents are also very
big on sustainability, they want to make sure that whatever we buy is sustainable
or that its life cycle is very long or can be composted. I believe that taking care of
the environment will help future generations have a better life and it will allow for
our planet to be healthier.
3. How can your interest be applied locally?
My interest can be applied locally in the way of giving classes surrounding
sustainability. I believe in Washington most people don't really know how to take
care of the environment and its saddening because our environment is one of the
healthiest in the United States. By teaching classes regarding composting,
thrifting, reducing plastic use, reusing, and reducing car use would help those who
have recently move to washington help preserve the evergreen state as many
people have started moving to Washington.
4. Where can you personally make the greatest
contribution?
I believe I can make the greatest contribution by volunteering at local community
centers to help remove Ivy from the trees, removing trash from the forest +
highways, and helping with being advocates for environment protection within
Seattle, Washington. This would help local residents be aware of what can be
down to be more sustainable.
5. Is there a feature of social media that can be uniquely
applied to this goal?
A feature of social media that can be uniquely applied to this goal is the use of
TikTok, specifically the captions within tiktok. I could start a tiktok to inform people
of how to be more sustainable at home, by captioning my videos it would provide
the users with fast information and it would be interesting too as many people are
aware of the impact of globalization and its impact on the environment so I believe
through tiktok not only can impact the local community but also communities
around the united states.
