Using our highly collaborative approach with clients, FracAdvisor
service helps identify optimal completion solutions that
complement the unique formation characteristics of a well. With
improved understanding of the formation characteristics, each
stage and each fracture cluster of a completion can be fine-tuned
for greater productivity.
An operator seeking to increase its fracturing efficiency in
South Texas asked Weatherford Petroleum Consulting to create
a custom completion solution using FracAdvisor service.
By integrating reservoir and geomechanical data, including 11 unique
reservoir and rock qualities such as brittleness and porosity specific
to the formation, Weatherford attained a higher understanding of the
rock and reservoir qualities. Analyzing these individual attributes and
honing the completion design achieved optimal hydraulic-fracturing
efficiency and greatly reduced the number of completions stages
needed for the job.
Following the Weatherford recommendations, the operator saved
$500,000 through stage optimization on the well. Pleased with
the results on this first well, the client engaged Weatherford to
