Homeless children in our society
Nowadays there’re many homeless children around the world. The causes of this
problem are varied in developed and developing countries. In most developing countries
for example: Congo, Uganda, Kenya, India, Pakistan, Brazil the main reasons why
street children are living on the street of the city, town or village, basically are economic
situation and lack of income. This everything is connecting to poverty too. Today, many
people, especially children are suffering from hunger. As for developed countries the
condition is absolutely different. For example: In the United States and Kanada
unfortunately number of homeless children are forced to live outside, because of
watching act of violence, using drugs regularly, being beaten and sexual abuse in their
family.
Although, some threats, such as poverty and hunger are the main reasons of
homelessness. Street children are more likely than others to have chronic health
problem and less access on medical or dental care. Besides, They’ve a problem with
depression, because, as I said, these children forced to watch violence. Moreover, most
of them becomes violet themselves. So they find it difficult to establish in society
because aggressive expression and terrible look. Also, when people are looking at
homeless children, they treated them very aggressively. So, in my project, I’m going to
discuss these children condition and find an alternative to solve this problem.
First of all, It’s very difficult to describe exact statistical data about homeless children
especially in Georgia. Despite this, there’re some specific information which is
necessary for adequate conclusions. Approximately 57% of homeless kids spend at
least one day every month without food and almost 40% of the homeless children are
under 18 in Georgia.
In addition, there’re heartbreaking statistic about violent issues. 14% of homeless
children become victims of violence which is alarming for such a small country like
Georgia. As I said, part of the society treated poor kids terribly. So, such action affects
the psychological mental and mortal development of them and time to time they express
the aggressive attitude towards society. As for chronical health problems more than
70% of Georgians street children are suffering many diseases.
Finally, in my opinion the government should take appropriate measures and open
children help centers and schools for homeless children. It’s important that the center
provides homeless kids for necessary medical assistance food, clothes and many
things. Besides, it’s important the center to have qualified psychologists and doctors
who will take care of them. As for schools, there’ll be teachers who will give them basic
knowledge.
