Valuable Lessons from Amway & Its Leaders
Love them or hate them, Amway is the "big dog" in
network marketing. No, I’m not in Amway, but I have
tremendous respect for the company. They paved the
way for other companies in our industry.

Their systems and company aren’t perfect (no company
or person is), but they do so many things right that we
can all learn from. Here are a few things you should
study about Amway.

First off, Amway is the best in the industry at creating
a team culture. No other company else even comes
close. They know how to create an environment where
people will “stick” around until they make the decision
to build the business, or until they develop the skills to
succeed. Many people will stick around, even if they
never build a business, simply because they enjoy
the team culture.

Their culture consists of books, tapes, functions,
recognition, and mentorship. Culture is the glue that
keeps a network marketing business together! People
want to belong to something bigger than themselves.

Another great thing about Amway is the personal
development. During my 2.5 years in Amway, they
taught me everything I know about personal
development; especially goal setting, having a mentor
and the power of positive association.

Their system is designed around helping their new
people grow and change. All of the books, tapes, CDs,
events and mentorship help people become LEADERS.

In addition, Amway is great at retaining people. No,
not everyone stays. But they are one of only a handful
of companies in our industry where top distributors
have had the same people on their team for 20, 30, 40,
or 50 years. A lot of the top earners in Amway have had
legs in their organization that have been rock solid for
DECADES, without doing much work with them. That is
true residual income.

The final thing I really admire about Amway is
the LOYALTY people have for the company and their
upline. If you think it’s hard to recruit someone from
another company into your team, try recruiting an
Amway rep. It’s next to impossible to do. They love
their company, the products, their upline, and are
extremely loyal. To me, that says a lot.
