The Suga Marie Organization Presentation
1. The Suga Marie Organization
Program Proposal Presentation
2. The Suga Marie Organization
• Mission: The Suga Marie Organization’s mission is to create and provide a safe place for
young teens and adults by giving them the necessary resources to improve their mental
health and feel involved in their community.
• The need my program will address is Mental Health in teens, and young adults, ages 13 to
24 years old.
• Mental health revolves around many issues they can face from suicidal thoughts, anxiety,
depression, bullying and social media, gender identity, and confidence. I want to have a
place where they can come for counseling, classes, mentorship programs, activities, and
room to meet new friends. I will also have an event room for birthday parties or
celebrations, creating a centralized place to meet all the community's needs.
• Suga Marie organization has an incredibly significant meaning behind the name. Suga Babe is
the nickname of my late grandmother, and Marie is the middle name of my husband’s late
grandmother. Both women were involved in our lives, giving advice, showing up, and making
us feel important. These are the qualities we want to pass on to our community .
3. Factors That Affect Our Clients
• Suicide, Anxiety, Depression, Bullying, Social Media, Gender
Identity, and Confidence.........
"Suicide is the second-leading cause of death among people ages 15 to 24 in the U.S.
Nearly 20% of high school students report serious thoughts of suicide and 9% have made an
attempt to take their lives, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness"
The Suga Marie Organization wants to create a space for young adults and teens to come and
feel safe to share their thoughts, and receive treatment. I do not want any judgement or an
intimidating atmosphere, I want people to want to be a part of my organization because
everyone feels like family, instead of a treatment center.
4. Culture and
Diversity
• Working with teens and young adults, assessing their needs and
strengths will be done through individual interventions. Doing this
will help us know how we can help each person, specifically to what
they need.
• Being around cultural, race, sex, and gender diversity will
benefit our clients long-term, because they are learning and
experiencing the many diversities in the world. Having a program
with multiple mentors, counselors, health professionals that are from
many walks of life will help us serve our community.
5. Organizational Theory and Design
• The Social Conflict theory will fit the Suga Marie Organization best, because of the many professions we will have that
will focus on conflict in many areas of life. We focus on the history and events in society that causes mental health in teens
and young adults, and this theory is all about inequality which is a part of our mission.
• Focusing mainly on mental health we will have different departments that contain support groups, health professionals, and
resources to any life needs regarding housing, food, and transportation.
• Everyone will be connected sharing information about the same client, working together to help figure out the next
best step for the client.
• A referral process will have to be set in place as well as making everything appointment only.
• Walk-ins will only be case by case because it will be hard to effectively coordinate our services and time fairly.
• Mental Health Counselor: Working with teens and young adults specifically with their mental health, we will need a professional who specializes in
talk therapy. Meeting with clients face-to-face or online, our counselor will make each client feel safe to open up so that we can pin point the true
reason they need our help.
• Reports to the client, counseling and planning treatments and referrals
• Working with the health professionals sending referrals and discussing treatment options
• Reporting any issues or concerns to the supervisor and lead counselor
• Contacting the CEO or board of the Suga Marie Organization
• Reaching out to the Director of Mental Health for your state if you suspect any unethical issues within our organization.

7. Information System
• I would measure the accomplishment of objectives by
effectively documenting our progress through a calendar, and
planner within the program I choose. Making sure that I am
scheduling meetings with responses from the team, so that I
know that they have received the information, and also
utilizing a digital check list that gives me constant reminders of
what needs to be done and what I have already completed.
• In documenting changes, I would communicate with both staff
and clients to receive feedback in their experience, and the
progress made in their treatments. I would ask was their
experience effective, did they feel safe, was things done in a
timely manner, all questions that will help me stay on top of
the changes in the quality of care.
8. Program
Evaluation
• The Suga Marie Organization
focuses on mental health in teens
and young adults, so I plan to
utilize qualitative methods. With
this it studies human experiences,
and life patterns to discover ways
to continue to cater to the
community.
• Case studies would be the best
outcome measures to use, like
creating a questionnaire, written
accounts, interviewing clients, and
observations.
9. The Suga Marie Organization
• We want to be a gift to our community, helping teens and adults fight against
mental health, and advocating for inclusion.
• We do not want any judgement or an intimidating atmosphere,
• We want teens to want to be a part of our organization, with a family filled atmosphere that offers
multiple opportunities.
• A one stop shop for activities, resources, and mentorship to help build healthy adults,
starting with our teens and young adults in the community. .
