11. The 4-PointSystem, alsocalled the American Apparel Manufacturers (AAMA) point-grading system fordetermining
fabric quality, is widely used by producers of apparel fabrics
The 4-PointSystem assigns 1, 2, 3 and 4penalty points according tothe size and signi cance of the defect. No
more than 4penalty points can be assigned forany single defect. Defectcan be in eitherlength orwidth direction,
the system remains the same. Only majordefects are considered. Nopenalty points are assigned tominordefects.
In this system, one should inspectatleast10 percentof the total rolls in the shipmentand make sure toselectat
leastone roll of each colorway.
