Using slideshare in teaching.

2. SLIDESHARE
It is a slideshow hosting website 2.0 which was thrown to the
market in 2006. It is considerated similar like you tube but
guided only to slide presentations.
This tool let users post and share in public or private slide
presentations made in Power Point, PDFs, Microsoft Word,
Open Office, Texts without format and also some audio and
video formats.

3. How to use SlideShare?
Although it was created firstly for company’
employees, now it is used for any person who
want to share any kind of information such as
technology, education, sports, hobbies, etc., it is a
free and easy application to use.

4. How to use SlideShare?
The following are some steps you can use to start using Slideshare:
 Go to www.slideshare.net
 Log in if you have just opened an account.
 If you do not have it, you can go to the link sign up to create one or you
can start using your Facebook account.
 Go to upload now
 Choose the file you like to add from your explorer.
 Click in the open bottom.
 Wait for the document upload announcement.
 Then publish it
 Finally you sign out from SlideShare
You can share your documents in a social web site or send it through an e-
mail, also you can add it in a blog or web site and you can save the
presentation in your personal computer if you like,too.

5. How to use SlideShare for teaching
Teaching is one of the hardest professions and teachers have one of the most
important roles in this process of education which consist in guiding the
students’ processes of learning according to each way of learning and prepare
them for their professional lives.
What is more, technology is presented in our current days and it is
transforming the way of teaching giving the opportunity to call the attention to
our students in their studies, presenting the topics and concepts in other way
leaving the white board, markers and eraser as a supportive material.
I would use SlideShare for teaching to my students in order to call them the
attention to learn a new topic, first and once I have the topic I will create a slide
presentation with it, where I can present the concepts or definitions of the
topic, some examples into their real lives context, also I will try to use colors and
fonts with a nice style and if it is possible I would add a video to create the topic
more interesting, it has to be something simple but startling.

6. Why to use SlideShare
in teaching?
As I exposed in the paragraph above Technology and the ICTs
are presented nowadays, and they are giving us tools to work in
a different way to our students, to call the attention and
enthusiasm of them in learning, so using Slideshare or any
other tool in teaching give to the teacher the opportunity to
expose a topic totally different from an ordinary class. It will
create an incredible expectation on the part of students, the use
of Slideshare is easier than any other tool, is free and everybody
can access to the content registered there.
In my opinion the most important in a class is to have
interested and excited students to learn and then apply the
learning in their real contexts, it is so that using Slideshare in
our daily teaching give us the chance to achieve our aims
arranged at the beginning of the year or a term and the most
important to have happy students, concerned in their own
process of learning.
