To Whom It May Concern:
On behalf of The Education Fund, I am pleased to write this letter in support of Mr. Carlos Antonio Viera.
Mr. Viera is a dedicated, passionate and ambitious leader who will excel in an administrative role.
Since 2012, Mr. Viera has served as a key partner and advisor to The Education Fund’s Citi
Postsecondary Success Program (CPSP). CPSP aims to increase college access and success for low-
income and first-generation students. Our collaborative partnership and data-driven approach has
enabled CPSP to expand to eight schools, an increase of five since its inception in 2009. Through
research-based workshops, Mr. Viera has guided CPSP schools in evaluating strategies for postsecondary
readiness and success. Data collected from these workshops allows school site administrators and
faculty to identify barriers and gaps in resources that prevent students from enrolling and persisting in a
postsecondary program. Mr. Viera’s expertise in curriculum development, educational leadership,
performance improvement, and building leadership capacity has allowed schools to identify strategies
for improvement that directly align to their school improvement plans.
The Education Fund and the districts division of student services also activated a Community
Partnership, a gathering of nonprofit organizations and local business leaders that work together on
projects to increase college readiness and success. Mr. Viera plays a critical role in this partnership;
guiding the development and execution of our multi-year strategic plan and leading multiple projects
including district-wide FAFSA completion events, professional development workshops, parental
engagement sessions and leveraging resources and services for at-risk students. This partnership offers
a unique opportunity to develop and evaluate the impact of policies and programs to improve student
outcomes.
Mr. Viera displays effective communication strategies and administrative skills that facilitate smooth
functioning across schools, departments and organizations. He has great enthusiasm for overcoming
challenges and spends time developing a meaningful rapport with administrators, faculty, students and
parents. It is with great pleasure that I recommend Mr. Viera.
Sincerely,
Linda Lecht
President, The Education Fund
