Camrin Stephenson discusses several topics in the document:
1) Two things that motivate her are voting and change. She realized her individual vote can make a difference. She also wants to change why change is so difficult for many.
2) Three things that surprised her about government were her lack of prior knowledge, the timing of presidential transitions, and how the president selects their cabinet.
3) Her view on "The Wall" issue is that it has both benefits and drawbacks for border security and immigration.
4) She believes the 1st Amendment is the most important because it protects free speech and was exercised by leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. who faced government opposition.

2. TWO THINGS THAT MOTIVATE ME
• Voting
Voting actually makes a difference and I really didn’t think that my one vote could
make a change and after this election I still didn’t think it did just because Hilary won
the popular vote and trump lost but somehow trump is still president. Without my
vote though I realized since I didn’t vote I can’t complain about not getting what I
want. Which I didn’t want either of them to win but still.
3. TWO THINGS
• Change
I would like to change why “ Change” is so foreign to so many people. Change is such a
difficult process for this country and I honestly don’t know why. People are so scared of
it and then when individuals such as the Ball family they have made so much money
and progress from not being scared they blow up in a good way and people are shocked
and I honestly support them 100% for not being scared to step out of a comfort zone
that everybody else is stuck in or scared to come out of.
4. 3 THINGS THAT SURPRISED ME
• Nothing
Honestly I really knew nothing about our government before I entered this online class if
I’m being truthful.
• Presidency
I found out that the president has to be out of the white house by February and the new
one has to be in by then.
• Presidents cabinet
I didn’t know the president got to nominate who was on his team behind him I thought
they were chosen by someone else.
5. POLITICAL ISSUE
• The Wall
This issue I don’t feel is the most important but it is very popular and it is still
important
The wall is a good and bad thing it is a good thing due to stopping a lot more
immigrants from coming over and being in the united states illegally and getting them
in trouble. In a bad sense we put the immigrates in a position where we say the united
states is a free country and we’re supposed to support that. This is where people come
to have better lives so I mean its really 50/50.
6. THE 27 AMENDMENTS
• 1st Amendment
I believe that this is the most important amendment for the fact that we need this
without this we wouldn’t have so many things the biggest example that I know of is
Martin Luther King Jr. he exercised this right so much that he got shot. If that isn’t
the most government thing to do they did it because they don’t want anybody to abuse
their system that they have created.
7. A FEW LESSONS
• Life lessons
Life doesn’t always take it easy the world we live in is a complicated system and our
government gets a lot of crap for the things that we go through. Change is always
happening whether you want it to or not but you will always have you’re rights no one
can take that away from you as long as you live.
