3. What motivates me to participate in our
political system?
• I vote because I feel that it is patriotic and could potentially tip the
scales in favor of whatever it is I am supporting.
• I would want to change the cost of healthcare so that it is easier for
people who are less fortunate and cannot afford it.
• I think that the government has done a reasonable job of allowing
citizens to somewhat express themselves.
4. Things I have learned this semester
• I was surprised to learn that social media has a significant impact on
elections and campaigns
• I would like to learn more about how the political systems we have in
place today could approach the homelessness situation American’s
are facing.
• I did not necessarily have anything in specific that I expected to learn
as I didn’t really know what to expect from the class.
5. Political issue I believe is most important for
future generations
• I feel that the single political issue that future generations need to
consider is the government simply not telling the whole truth when
addressing things that are going on behind the scenes.
• This will be significant in my opinion because it creates a divide
amongst people and does not allow for people to think critically.
6. Most important Amendment?
• I believe that the 1st amendment is the most important
• Without the right to freedom of speech people cannot freely express
themselves and America as we know it would become just like some
of the third world countries.
7. A few lessons I have learned going forward
• Sometimes, political candidates can push invalid information in hopes
of gaining more votes.
• Social media has an immense presence when it comes to politics and
can often misconstrue information.
• Overall, America is doing a far superior job regarding politics and
when compared to other countries we are on a much better path.
