tic company in Rwanda which aims to provide value-added professional services
of the highest standard to the local mineral resource industry. Our Vision at SMC
is to be recognized as the most trusted name in survey and metallurgy, through
accountability for our actions, accuracy and integrity, training and employing local
students, by putting our clients’ needs before our own, and by adding value to our
clients' projects.
Calvin Whitford is a Mine Surveyor with 27 years of experience gold, coal, plati-
num and tin mines. He has worked in underground operation, opencast and open
pit operations with companies like Anglo American, Glencore and African Rain-
bow Minerals. He is certified by the Department: Minerals and Resources in South
Africa to be in charge of the survey and mapping on a mine in accordance with
the Mines Health and Safety Act.
Giuseppe Sciuto is a Metallurgist with over 40 years of experience in diamonds,
gold and tin with companies like Petra Diamonds, Gem Diamonds and ADP
Metco. He has experience in the mining industry from working underground, in
process plants, assaying and sampling to management positions in various loca-
tions around the world such as Angola, Cornwall (UK), DRC, Tanzania and
Rwanda. He is adept at assembly, commissioning and management of a process
plant.
