1. Objectives
Experienced teacher seeks full-time employment as Upper School teacher of
literature. Goals include using literature as a means to enrich the understanding
of real world events and to address global and social concerns. Imparting a
sense of community responsibility, an awareness of social justice, and a
willingness to start deep, meaningful conversations are crucial to my educational
philosophy for creating engaged students and conscious global citizens. Also

Work Experience
CATS Academy Boston 2013-present
Leadership responsibilities: Head of the Diversity Committee; responsible for
helping students and teachers gain cultural sensitivity and organizing diversity
activities for the community. Head of a NEASC subcommittee for the
accreditation process; responsible for holding meetings on a given Standard and
creating the necessary reports. Teacher mentor; responsible for mentoring and
training two new teachers to help them adjust to our unique international student
body.
Teaching responsibilities: Teach American Literature, Gender Politics in
Literature and Creative Writing, and have taught World Literature, AP Music

2. Music division of the Arts Department and responsible for arranging private
music lessons for all interested students.
Student life responsibilities: Live-in dorm parent during the 2013-2014 school
year, and live-out dorm parent for the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 school years.
Teach violin lessons after school, have led an acapella group and book club in
the past. Academic advisor to seven students.
Playful Tunes, Boston, MA 2012-2013
Responsible for introducing music and instruments to students aged 18 months
to 5 years old. Job included creating lesson plans and working closely with other
teachers as well as the writing of advertising materials, newsletters, blogs, and
website maintenance. Excellent communication and organizational skills
required, as well as innovative and cutting-edge ideas in the field of education
and business management.
New England Music Camp Counseling Staff, Sidney, ME 2008-2011
Ensured campers’ safety and well-being while structuring their days positively,
interfaced with camp management and administration, worked with parents of the
campers, and resolved camper conflicts. Also served as a lifeguard and sailing
instructor.
