1. In addition to my teaching experience within the public schools, I also have worked as an
independent contractor for both Citi Center and Read Boston. Prior to those positions, I
spent 8 years as the assistant to the Children's Ministries Director (administrative and
programmatic) at Trinity Church Boston and as the Reading Coordinator for South
Boston Neighborhood house's "Early Books". In all of these capacities I have supervised
as well as instructed young people. I was a coordinator during my Early Books tenure, as
the "Arts In the Park", a program for teenagers to learn to work with children in our
summer program.
People that know me, consider my ability to collaborate and unite others, as one of my
primary talents. I have been a part-time artist since moving to Boston from Iowa in 1989
and have worked with both early childhood and the elderly (Hebrew Rehab as a
recreation therapist). My background has given me the opportunity to work with and for
various arts organizations and thus I am well versed in the resources in our community
and how to engage their involvement. I am currently on the Instructional leadership
team, and playground grant committee at our school. My technological and 21st century
skills include iMovie, pod casting, Digital Storytelling and all Mac and pc programs.
Thank you for your time.
