Let’s learn how to move a line.
In AutoCAD Move command is used to move one or more objects from one place to
other place. You can move objects by specifying distance and direction to move.
To learn, how to move a line from one place to other, follow below mentioned steps.
1. Now, click on the Move command in Modify panel under Home tab.
Move command moves objects at a specified distance in a specified
direction. You can use coordinates, grid snaps, object snaps, and other tools
to move objects with precision.
You can also activate Move command by entering MOVE or M at the
Command line. Another method to select the Move command is also
available.
You can select the Move command from Menu Bar > Modify > Move.
You can also find Move command in Modify toolbar of the AutoCAD classic
workspace.
You can also select Move command from shortcut menu. Select the objects to
move and then right-click in the drawing area and then click the Move
command.

The base point is the reference point with respect to which the object will be
picked and moved.

6. Next, type 12 as distance value to move a line.
7. Make sure ORTHOMODE is ON. You can change ORTHOMODE by pressing
F8 key.
8. Next, press Enter or Right-click to accept the input value and move the line.
