2. Location/Setting:
• We are filming our opening at Castlefield
House from inside and will be filmed during
the day time. In one particular room and also
in the entrance of the building.
3. Props:
• Diary - Black, business-like diary which will reflect the fact that she was in a business profession prior
to losing her memory. The colour black highlights the mystery of her memory loss and also can show
that she is in danger.
• Clipboard - Clear plastic clipboard reveals that he is invisible to her at this current time and his identity
is secret. It also shows him as a chameleon as he is posing as someone he isn't.
• Biro pen - Shows that the man isn't defined by status and is trying to blend in, rather than using an
expensive fountain pen.
• Pieces of paper, ripped and screwed up - This could show that her memories are ripped and she is
struggling to recollect her memories.
• Envelope sealed - shows that events are hidden from her through the document that the men
exchange. Also, that there are secrets within the men.
• Phone - This shows the mystery as she receives an anonymous text saying 'Want to know the truth
meet me under the bridge in 20 minutes' and will begin to unfold the plot of the film.
• Coat and Bag - This shows that she is leaving in a hurry. Dark colours show the danger.
4. Costume and Makeup
• Costume of the men - Both men
will be wearing business-like
suits because this conveys a
seriousness to their characters
and also adds an air of mystery
as there is no highlight of what
business they are in. One of the
men will be wearing dark
glasses; this will convey that he
is concealing his identity. This
would be similar to that of Woo-
Jin Lee in Oldboy.
5. Costume and Makeup
• Costume of the woman: casual clothing of light and pastel in colouring, as the
protagonist this will make her appear more innocent. Also, the fact she is in her
own home in the beginning of the opening sequence she would be dressed
casually. One item of black clothing in this costume will highlight there may be
something deeper to her personality, rather than innocent, but she may not be
aware of it due to her loss of memory.
• Makeup: The male characters will not be wearing any makeup as they are
business-type; whom wouldn't be seen wearing makeup. However, the female
character will be wearing makeup. This makeup will be minimal as she is in her
casual wear in her own home. Also, if she were to look too overly dressed, realism
would be lost as that is not what is expected of
someone in the comfort of their own home.
Similar to the makeup of the protagonist in The
Roommate.
