GEVP Quick Facts
CIT offers its employees the opportunity to volunteer for a full
work day as part of its Global Employee Volunteer Program
(GEVP). This initiative advances our philanthropic focus on
employee community involvement.

To celebrate National Philanthropy Day, CIT wanted to highlight
two programs that showcase some of the contributions our
employees make to our society and our world.
National Philanthropy Day (November 15)
Established in 2006.
More than 45,000 hours have been volunteered
globally with at least a 5% increase in hours every
year since the program’s inception.
On average, approximately 1,100 employees
volunteer every year.
VC Quick Facts
Established in 1994.
The Volunteer Council hosts weekend and
in-office projects outside of the GEVP program.
Employees support over 40 community
organizations.
Shared Harvest
The CIT Shared Harvest program supports local food organizations
around world. The program is 100% supported by employee
donations of food, money and other needed items that help local
food banks and community organizations fill their shelves with
much needed items for people living in their communities.
Established in 2006 in our Jacksonville, FL office.
From 2006 – 2012 Jacksonville employees donated nearly
81 tons of food (over 161,861 lbs).
In 2013, the program was expanded to become a
company-wide initiative.
In 2013, employees collected 95 tons of
food, equivalent to 160,000 meals.
So far this year, 14 food drives have taken
place with more than 75 tons donated.
